Help, organising a youth team tour to Australia

I'm trying to gather information to help me organise a tour to Australia for an under 13s/14s amateur team. If anyone has experience of organising something simular I'd appreciate any help, advice, contacts or info on Ausie clubs or organisations that might be interested in receiving a youth team from England.

How come you are taking them to Australia and not a European nation?

Purely for a greater experience!

At this stage we're looking into the feasibility of it although we know it will be a huge undertaking both financially and logistically.

Fair enough. I think it would be a bit of a logistical nightmare, and the kids will probably love it wherever they go. But if you think you can pull it off then good luck.

Contact Tas Baiteiri at the NSWRL -- he is chief development officer at the RLIF -- and get his advice.

Tas can be contacted at his NSWRL office, which I think is: +61-2-9971-0877

If he is out of town or unavailable for whatever reason, ask the secretary at that number for his email address.

It might turn out to be a long term project and we might even end up going as U15s or even U16s but there's a great deal of commitment from everyone involved so unless it becomes totally impractical there's a real possibility of it happening.

Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Thanks for that,

I'll be trying to reach him this week, I've also thought of contacting Mike Rush at St Helen's as he's been involved in most of the Sts youth tours to Australia.
