Here we go again? Salary cap issues?

Yeah but companies lay people off all the time.
Companies that make huge profits lay people off all the time... probably more than ones that struggle.

Business’ aren’t formed to make sure everyone has a lovely Xmas.
It’s shit
But that’s life .

Not quite sure what your point is. Of course businesses operate like this but there is a point where your team becomes so lean that you cannot compete with the big boys and the business suffers as a result.

Well I’m not in the know as to what actual jobs these people did.
I’m only guessing Pierce didn’t just cut 10 jobs without some sort of advice or investigating.

Just on him.
Everyone seems to be blaming him.

He didn’t create this shit fight.
It took him sweet f**k all to detect this salary cap rort.
How long before some pissed off ex employee runs to that merkin Rothfield with that info?

Or worse.

How on the earth the taxation dept didn’t twig to massive amounts of money suddenly appearing and disappearing in bank accounts is another mystery to me.

A real concern.

Does all this salary cap stuff prove that you can't win the comp without cheating the cap in some way?

Dont go flattering yourselves LU posters. News of this is rife around the shire. Buzzs sources are his mates at De La and to a lesser degree, members of the board. While journos do trawl the forums for info; real juicy stuff like this comes from people inside the Ark.

Now by no means am I floating anyone’s boat, but don’t you think the timing of this “breaking news” is some what coincidental? If Buzz and his de la mates knew about the trouble in the club why would it only come out today? I heard about the redundancies and everything else last week. I only wrote what I did after Avenger posted his comment and I was curious to know if the mail was from the same postman so to speak.

Anyways I don’t think anyone is flattering themselves I just think it makes a certain journo look a bit slow with his “breaking news”

Then it becomes about surviving. In an environment where rationialisation WILL come in to play, that's desperation stakes.

I was 18 years and 10 months old when Super League broke. I hated Super League. I was young and idealist and couldnt drink for shit. Now I'm old, wise in a curmudgeon way, could drink for my country and believe that Super League wasn't evil. It was inevitable.

It was just 23 years 8 months early.

Big changes coming, across the game.

It is inevitable.

Think we need to put all the dramatics of relocation talk on hold just for now. The money from the development was always going to be a drawn out process with the majority of the Sharks profits not being realised until the second half of the project. We are still on track with the $20 million centre of excellence and proposed improvements to the leagues club. The joint has always leaked a couple of million a year and this was only bought back to a respectable level by means of the 10 million advance on the development. Anyone know how much Parra lost this year? Never makes the news cause it's not the Sharks.

Has everyone forgotten we had a coke head running the board who appointed a bunch of mates and associates into the board and made constitutional changes to the club that makes it nearly impossible to eradicate his ilk from it?

We are reaping those rewards right now.
