What I would like to know is, if this incident happened in August 2003, obviously investigations would have started before then, how come the Warriors selected Metcalf to play in 2 trials this year given the seriousness of allegations and the propensity for Metcalf's career to be in tatters at the end of this all? Given the situation, and given the trials were basically a look to our future at the Warriors, I most definitely would not have selected him. Another kid with the right heart, the right mind should have been selected. Not this criminal.

Fair call, except if he was found not guilty he then would have been able to sue the Warriors for discrimination, restraint of trade and subsequent future loss of income.

Innocent till proven guilty, no matter how terrible the crime.

How come there is a huge controversy corner post on this, yet Jason Williams doesn't get a mention? Hmmm?

TH you're way off base dude, there is no other way of looking at something like this. It's an abomination and I agree whole-heartedly with Iafeta, why does it always have to end up the females responsibilty for pevention
Grow up please, and if she did decide not to abort the child WITH the support of her family, and if it is true they told him he did not have to be a part of it well what more can you say. Eye for an eye if I had my way sometimes geez!

Grow up? That's ironic. Seems to me we live in a society of incredible hypocrisy when it comes to what "grown up" means.

Apparently according to Sky News Active, the Warriors have resigned Shaun Metcalfe. #-o Not a particularly wise move for mine, don't really care if he's the next Gene Miles, not what I want at my club.

I saw it in a paper, and on TV. The general stance from NZRL is that he's done his time.
