Its good you are a fan of the Chili's. Good on you.

I'll let you in on a little secret of mine, their album Blood Sugar Sex Magic was SO good when i first heard it, i listened to NOTHING ELSE for 8-12 months. I was ADDICTED, no doubt about it ... i loved them more than any other stuff in the past, or even in the future. Back then i found the band i loved the most.

But dude, times change. Im 38 now, and i was in my prime when BSSSM was released. But times change. Personally i find the Chilli's a complete SHADOW of their former selves. The crap they released after BSSSM, i STILL cant listen to ... its NOT the REAL Chilli's. Where the hell has the punk-funk gone ?

Good luck to them though ... most of the members have overcome herion addictions and its because of their music. However, nothing can top BSSSM, not now nor in the future. The only other album that even comes close is Mothers Milk. They are NOT the same band they once were. So please ... stop insulting the intelligence of those around you ... i, personally went back to the past and fell in love with Jimi Hendrix and The Doors after my infatuation with the Chilli's passed. Then i got heavily into real black blues, and The Grunge era will ALWAYS be extra special for me. Then Jazz, 70's HARD ROCK, and then back to the 90's and beyond with that awesome Industrial Sound that Ministry PERFECTED, and others can only copy etc etc ... we all change with our own moods ... if you arent like that then i fell sorry for you man, you MUST be EXTREMELY young to feel the way you do.

But hey, everyone is different. Until you discover that (sure its fun to pay out guys like Ron ... but i actually RESPECT Ron more than most ... he isnt ashamed of what he likes, but HE NEVER forces his opinion down everyone else's throats.)

Good luck with the rest of your life experience ... you have sh*tLOADS to learn.

p.s. i AM assuming you are quite young. IF you arent, then quite frankly GFYYC.

Good post, the problem is though, he doesn't pay out on me, he pays out on himself. I think i've gotten on his nerves quite abit, hence why he stalks me like a fat unemployed single mum looking for a root, hell he even wanted a picture of me:lol:

Nothing wrong with opinions, but appreciate all musical genres and the artists from there, regardless of if you like them or not, and appreciate what they've contributed to music overall.

Funky, If you like RHCP that's fine, haven't got a problem with it, or even that guitarist of there's. But be realistic for once and accept that he really isn't a pimple on the arse compared to the other guitarists the world has seen, and that he's not as great as what you may percieve him to be, everytime someone disagrees you call them a "arse merkin" or just "merkin" or threaten to stab em, that isn't normal.

ok i'll admit that Eddie Van Halen is more technical that john frusciante on the guitar. But he'll never be as good a musician as Frusciante is.

Will do man ... you know the best source of Hair Metal bands that not even YOU know about ? Beavis and Butthead shows ... sure they paid out on ALL of them, but you'll probably see the whole range right there ... Bands like Hush, Army of Lovers, Sokool etc etc :) Tis Gold !! :)

Good thread and good post OVP.

The funny thing is that most of us on here are RHCP fans. I even liked them up to One Hot Minute, which is an underrated album.

But everyone can see that they've gone downhill since. As you say OVP, they've lost that edge that seperated them from the crowd.

Hey Ron, I haven't met anyone on this board!!

Was going to have a beer with Sydraider a few times at concerts but didn't end up going.

Would be good to have a piss-up sometime.

You should have to come to Testament Hev.

Not only to have an ale and a chinwag to moi but damn they put on an awesome gig. If they are true to their word, they will be back, touring with a new album.

Absolutely, I never disliked RHCP until Funk turned me off them with all this stuff.

We should organise a night out on this board, next concert coming up we should all go and meet up for drinks, would be awesome. ;-)

That's is the problem Funky, Eddie is a wonderful musician. Not only did he revoluntise the guitar in 78 onwards, but he's also a wonderful classical trained pianoist and is also believe it or not a great singer, who was going to be the singer until David Lee Roth joined VH in 76.

Ok then, if it helps you sleep at night.

Frusciante is still better. ;-)
