Well i will have to eat my hat

he did play well but not as good as webke or ricketson

best for the poms (if it werent for the head high)

his defence was great and some of the offloads were great (especially the one that lead up to the try)

many are right about him though - if he can get the high shots out of his game he would be in the best 10 players in the world IMO

It's weird one.
Take the "spectacular" out of his game & he is just another forward. But a good one.
He wasn't the best for the pommes either. That Fielden? was outstanding & so was Anderson.

Ahhh! Back from Queensland.....beautiful one day, raining the next.
Gus was paying out on Kimmorley, yet he got MVP for the 2nd. Test. You're not Gus, are you, Blacktip?
Gotta admit though...when you get off your Anderson bike you sound pretty sensible. I thought Fielden had a top game too. And Anderson too...a real old style forward....in the mode of the great Monty Porter and his bravehearted son Weaponhead too.
I really enjoyed these 2 Tests. Best I've seen for about 30 years. I believe the Poms are nearly there. And full credit to ex-Sharkie David Waite on that too. They had us by the short and curlies in the 2nd. Test but let us off the hook. I think they may have tried to shut up shop and muffed it. A couple of errors and it's Goodnight Charlie.

Morley wasn't our best forward I thought that was Farrell but he did a good offload for the first try and he was getting in the Aussies faces

According to the NRL's web site, Fielden notched up 39 tackles. A much better performance from him, though the crap he pulled on Gower in the first half when he pushed him on to the asphalt behind the in-goal was a little unnecessary.

Apart from that one off-load, which went forward, I didn't think Morley did all that much. Missed quite a few tackles from memory and dropped the ball a couple of times. Had his statutory high shot for the game, picking on someone a little smaller this time in Matt Sing, but managed to stay on the field. Gets reported and the judiciary reckon he doesn't have a case to answer. Some people lead a charmed existence don't they?

Yeah I reckon he should have the game off anyway. Just go up to St Andrews & whack a little ball around for a day.
the whole team may as well go & just leave it for the Noddy & (loves) Ando show. Waste of time everyone else being on the field.

With Ando & Noddy at the helm. Autralia are to the Ashes what England are to the union world cup.
Boring & negative.

Well boring and negative doesnt describe the first test I saw and by the sounds of it, not the second test either.

If boring and negative took the first 2-0 series lead since, 1986 I'll take it. And so will England if it wins them the RWC.

But I take your point. The flat attack did bore me at Shark Park on numerous occasions this season and I'd prefer to see it done away with. But if it won us a premiership, I wouldnt mind in the slightest.

I think the tests were good games, but Australia were boring.
the games were good because the pommes were a chance of winning.
Most even keeled supporters of the game, know that for rugby league to continue growing the international game has to grow. & forthat to happen, other countries have to start winning. As much as i hate pomme everything, I wanted them to win, because it will directly impact financially on the NRL & therefore, the sharks.
You know that NRL clubs spend 3.5 million a year on the teams. Double that for operating costs. Go mad & say that the total expenditure for NRL clubs p/year is 100 million dollars.
Well the pomme union outfit has reportedly spent 68 million pounds getting ready for this campaign. Or roughly close to the total of the NRL expenditure per year. The reason they have so much cash is because of international TV rights & audience size. they are killing it.
But they are boring. But people want them t beat the Aussies & the kiwis so they are a great commodity no matter how they play.
australia should not approach international games in this fashion.
They are the best & should unleash their capabilities right across the park. Not stop at the half back. they have a responsibility to do that. If it means losing a few, big deal. it will only help the international game, which is the most important issue facing RL.
TV not pokies.

actually i agree with your overall rant reefy

but SS is right

the team itself has to have winning as the goal

lets face it rule wise / ref wise the poms get away with blue murder

i am cool with that and i realise things have got to be evened up a bit even if they get a leg up with reffing

but beyond that the australian team only has one goal on the field

yeeahh laddy, when I was your age we used to play a game called rugby league. We used to play & beat the pommes everytime. They never beat us in 50 years. We came up with this game plan that made it impossible to lose. they used to call us boring &negative, but we'd knew we win. we had this secret weapons see. A kicker by the name of Kimmorley, could pot them from seventy metres out.
we never scored a try in 15 years but we never lost.
those were the days of real sport.
Much better than the poker machine world cup you guys play now.
You never know, maybe if we had of done things differently, the game would still be going.

Not to metion all the extra ammunition you'd have to attack Anderson with.

Even you must be getting bored with the same old same old you keep spouting but the stuff you just make up or misrepresent gives us a bit of a change.

Personally I think RL has to stop pretending it is a true international sport, have a realistic assesment of where it is and then work at getting the game going forward.

The talk that they are considering reviving the RL World Cup, on the basis of the success of the Yawnion, worries. If they truly think they can emulate this in the near future they are kidding themselves.

So Reefy

You whinge that Kimmorley and Anderson are responsible for a debacle because the Australian side didnt win by a much greater margin

You thought the Australians were a disgrace to the game because they only beat Wales by 70

other countries have to start winning. As much as i hate pomme everything, I wanted them to win
You think they should change their game play to a more exciting but less effective style so the Brits can get closer to the Aussies

So the game will die after two close tests. The Aussies should have won by more but they didnt because of the game plan. But the game plan should also be changed to accommodate GB because the Aussies have a responsibility to arrange closer tests.

Am I the only one whose head is spinning?
