Reported in Manly daily this morning.
Hicks, who was hurt in the masssive 60 point loss to his old club, is likely to undergo surgery later this month and won't re appear until the start of the 2005 season.
Rookie centre Paul Stephenson is set to replace Hicks after spending the majority of the season in Premier League.
"I've had MRI scans and am seeing the surgeon on Monday but it's all pointing toward surgery," Hicks said yesterday
"Going out to Penrith and getting beaten like that and getting injured was not the way I wanted to end the year."
"It's pretty disappointing because I would have liked the opportunity to repay the fans by putting in some good performances over the next few weeks and salvaging some pride."
"I'm not really happy about it but that's footy and I've got to deal with it."
Hicks has been one of Manly's most consistent performers this season scoring 11 tries in 20 matches.
The Sea Eagles will miss his line breaking ability out wide but Hicks believes his team mates can bounce back from the Penrith disaster and finish the season strongly.
