HINDMARSH READY FOR RETURN
Tuesday, 12 January 2010
Pirtek Parramatta Eels workhorse Nathan Hindmarsh is only a few weeks away from returning to full pre-season training as he recovers from a wrist reconstruction.
The back-rower had surgery on his troublesome left wrist before Christmas and has spent the past month in a cast. Hindmarsh has resumed training with the NRL squad after an extended break following his tour to Europe with the Australian Kangaroos for their successful Four Nations campaign.
The former Blues representative decided to have the surgery in December so he would be ready for Round 1 of the 2010 NRL season, and is on track to break Brett Kennys record for the most games played for the club (265) early this year.
Hindmarsh is excited about the upcoming season for the Eels and cant wait to resume full training soon.
I get the cast off in mid-January, then I have a week of physio and Im back into it, he explains.
The recovery has been going really well so at the moment Im doing everything at training but working with the ball, so Im not far behind the other players.
I think weve got a great squad this year and there is a real buzz around the boys. Im looking forward to running onto Parramatta Stadium for the first time in Round 1 with them, and a huge home crowd to cheer us on.
