He should get $3.25mil this year he is the only guy who put in 100% everyweek.

we should give Wade the 0.25 - he's tried pretty hard this year too. :D

hindy is only asking for what he's worth

remember, i hate to sound like a rapper but what playa don't love stackin' his chips to the roof? though it's pretty concerning he's already using the media to put his demands on the table. i guess his manager has been in his ear

Not surprising that the media have decided to run with the story, I honest can't see Hindy leaving, assuming a contract upgrade, and a extension somewhere in the order of 350k-375k should see him stay at Parramatta IMHO

give him whatever he wants. i don't care how much it is and who has to go for him to get it. Parra losing Hindmarsh would be a dead set tragedy, and any hope we ever had of winning a Premiership will go with him.

Pay up and smile while doing it.

I second those exact words.

If Hindy leaves, I would do absolutely everything I possibly could to make sure Smith and Fitzgerald weren't that far behind him.

It would be like having lost Price or Cronin.

bu tyou look at the doggies, price is leaving.....raiders wicki is leaving...but we cant lose hindy, like the article said he would be in the top 6 players in the nrl and the others get close to 400k....i would have no problems i agreeing to that, maybe they let vialeki go so easy knowing they were going to need to top hindy up....

well in the sunday mail it said the eels have already commenced talks with regards signing him looking at an upgrade for next year and possibly 400 thousand after that so if he still has not resigned by may next year i think he may be gone.

ps come next year im sure will have the spare cash for him with the departure of vaealiki freeing up around 150,000 and dykes will most likley be gone as well not to mention others

I did not get the impression from the article that Hindy was money-hungry?
Sure, the money is what the papers will emphasise, because they think people are more interested in thst stuff. But if you just take Hindy's quoted words, it seems clear he is just burning to display his wares again in semi-final football, within a team that is competitive.

A player like Hindy would be stupid to commit himself to another long contract with a side that were not going to be in finals contention every year (Menzies, Flecther  ). Loyalty aside, all the money in the world will/should not quench that desire of an elite player to play for those premierships!!

Before things were going OK, but now we've had two years in a row where we've missed the 8. Parramatta MUST pull the friggin' fingers out and do WHATEVER IT TAKES to be a contender in 2005, or Hindmarsh and anyone else with true talent and pride are bound to (unfortunately) look elsewhere.

Anyway, Hindy deserves to be on more than Dykes and Vella and Cayless due to the amount of effort he has put into this losing team since 2002 (relative to those guys), and I can understand him feeling he deserves an upgrade given the club is now paying over $300K for various recruited players.

No need to panic.

The Sun Herald said we had opened negotiations and were looking to tie him up well before June 30 next year.

I smell a manager to me. Sending Hindy out in the press to talk up his value and alude to the fact he may leave. No biggie, just a player and his manager covering their bases to make sure they get the best possible deal.

yeah, the Tele ran that artilce the same day the herald ran a story that Parra were looking to lock up Hindmarsh for further years already.

AS said around 275K should be fine to keep Hindy at Parra.

Hindmarsh is worth a lot more than 250k and given some of the paychecks being handed out to our new recruits there are no excuses for him not being given it. I'd say 350k would be a fair amount for Hindy, though I think he's worth over 400k even.

I have no worries at all at paying Hindy whatever he asks. Luckily for me though, I'm not going to be the one who is paying Hindy the club is.

The club can only pay what they can afford for Hindy, and they have spent a hell of alot of money so far this season.

However, if they haven't spoken to Hindy prior and worked out that he would possibly increase to around $350-$400k a season and thus left room in the cap accordingly, it is a huuuuge managerial error and heads MUST roll.

Hindy is one of few players who does not need to talk himself up to get more money, his actions more than do this.

SHOW HIM THE MONEY
