Arguably the most popular player in the NRL, Nathan Hindmarsh has played more games for his beloved Parramatta Eels than any other player. He has played 20 times for the Kangaroos, and 23 times for NSW in league’s toughest arena … State or Origin. Hindmarsh’s popularity has seen him win the Provan Summons Medal four times, an award voted for by fans to name the NRL’s best loved player. He has also a four-time winner of the Dally M second-rower of the Year and has played in two grand finals with the Eels, in 2001 and 2009. In 2007, Hindmarsh made a world record 75 tackles in a game against the Melbourne Storm. Ever the ambassador for the game he loves, Hindmarsh is mindful of also setting the right example for his children to follow. “Since the three little buggers arrived everything I do I ask myself would my children and family be proud of this,” Hindmarsh said. “If the answer is no I rethink the situation. I want my children to grow up and be thoughtful considerate and genuinely nice human beings. Kids watch and learn from you, I would hope that they learn that being respectful and having manners goes along way.”
What is your favorite activity with the kids?
Pretty weird but I love taking them to Sushi Train, its hilarious watching my 4 yr old Archie eat more plates than me, Buster tries to use the chop sticks then ends up getting so frustrated he stabs his sushi instead – Nathan Hindmarsh
Do they take an active interest in your career?
The middle one does Buster, he loves footy, would actually sleep in his Parra gear every night if we let him. Walks around in my Parra footy socks 24/7 wants to wear them to the shops/daycare/anywhere/everywhere – Nathan Hindmarsh
Have you ever been asked to attend their school for "news"?
No not yet, but Archie takes pictures of me in for news (highly embarrassing…I’m sure his teachers are sick to death of the sight of my picture!) – Nathan Hindmarsh
Have you ever heard your kids tell stories about you to their mates?
No but I have heard them and their mates screaming down the hallway “No I’m Nathan Hindmarsh you can be Luke Burt” they are smart kids I wouldn’t want to be Luke Burt either! – Nathan Hindmarsh
Can it be hard being out in public with the kids, and having other children come up for autographs etc? Do they get jealous?
Honestly my kids don’t know any differently, and if they did get jealous I’d tell them to pull their heads in. I’m positive though there are plenty of fan photos out their with Buster on my shoulders! – Nathan Hindmarsh
What is his best asset as a father?
He has the ability to have fun with them whilst always teaching them something. He’s also a Nazi in regards to manners! – Bonnie Hindmarsh
Are you aware that dad is a famous footballer?
He just plays football for the Eels but Fui has girl hair – Archie
What makes your dad so great?
He sometimes gets us doughnuts up the shops – Buster

Besides their birth, obviously, what is your most memorable moment with your kids?

For Cooper, he came into our change room after a Western Force game and joined in the celebrations after a massive win - I jumped in the shower and so he just derobed and jumped in with me. He thought it was great, then got back into his force gear.
Franklin has always showed no fear, and I returned home from a long trip away, he was only a year and a half old, but he suddenly jumped on a scooter and started flying up and down the street at pace. It was hilarious, but he was so proud of himself, although I don't think he knew why. Jess had told me he had been doing it but had to be seen to be believed – Nathan Sharpe

 how cute
