HN Premiership Half-Time Wenty 10 Illawarra 4

Officials as usual making it hard for the players. More obsessive compulsive bobble crap. Every time the ball comes loose, or might have come loose, the ref makes a call.

Either RL is attracting the wrong kind of officious pain-in-the-ass personalities, or something has gone horribly awry with the culture of refereeing.

Full-Time Wenty 22 Illawarra 4

Wenty's tight power game with the big forwards was decisive.

Officials just as awful second half. Added phantom forward passes to phantom knock-ons. These bumptious blokes are a menace to women's RL.

Good to see the Bunnies get their first win of the year today after such narrow defeats in the previous 2 rounds.

Knights 12 Rabbitohs 16.

Edited after viewing highlights of the weekend's games and due to duff info on the NSWRL site.

Another takeaway from the highlights is that the Bears are looking red hot favourites for the premiership.

Will the Bears be an applicant for any further NRWL expansion ?

The Tigers v Mounties clash was interesting. I did not see that result coming.

I don't think Norths will get an NRLW team, but will be interesting to see if the relationship with the Roosters stays when the NSW Cup one lapses

Tarsha Gale Cup Raiders 12 Eels 26

Excellent game. God it's a joy sometimes to see players have the room to move after watching the rapid line-speed and congestion of the NRL.

Well refereed, no nit-picking. That's another relief - no bunker.

Both teams good, Parra just a bit better. Is Debbie Doueihi related to Adam? Looked dangerous all game, scored a fine individual try. Could be a chance of an NRLW contract.

Eels goal-kicker Alysha Bell is the best I've seen at this level.

Debbie D is a terrific player, good communicator as well, not sure if she is related.
How was the game esp the Raiders staff, they have a bit of a rep for carrying on, which sometimes extended onto the field. I was hoping that had changed

HNWP Bulldogs 28 Bears 18

Still tipping the Bears for the premiership, but clearly there are other strong contenders.

Isabelle Kelly firing for the Roosters in their big win over the Tigers. Didn't know Tarryn Aiken had moved to CC.

Early in the Bulldogs/Bears game someone got pulled up for what the commentator called "tunnel ball" i.e. tackled player rolls the ball and deliberately steps over it.

To the RFL's eternal disgrace, this is now the standard legal way to play (or more accurately not play) the ball in the UK. How can we expect RL to grow around the world when we're applying different rules in different countries to such a fundamental element of the game?

Surely they could have had a top 5 finals series with 11 teams - last year they had a top 4 with 9 teams - Is a top 4 Finals series going to be the standard for All Women's comp including NRLW

Hard to say what will happen this last round

The Bulldogs could rest players vs Mounties which would give the Mounties a fair chance of winning that game

The Sharks can't make the finals and could give a host of players a game that haven't played or played that much during the season vs Knights.

Central Coast with the bye can't improve their for and against.

They get penalised for it in the NRL, NSW Cup, Ron Massey and Sydney Shield comp

Having a little insight into the doggies, I would not be surprised if they did this to prevent the CC from making the 4.
I hate that sort of behaviour as I think it taints a premiership.

On the only 4 I think its about rolling into the NRLW

Interesting team lists this weekend.
Could very well be non regular players getting runs as much as anything

Bit of Karma - Dogs resting most of their starting 17 in the last round vs Mounties meant that the Mounties would win which they did (36-4) and finished 4th on for and against and end up playing and beating the Dogs in the Grand Final

The bulldogs situation was much more one of money than building a culture in both HNWP and TG. Maybe that had some thing to do with it. The change that happened in the HNWP in March certainly went a way to creating a better culture
