the guy is just not putting in. he rarely takes the ball up, in defence doesnt pull his weight

no effort imo

Well the heat is on the whole backline from this week onwards, Hegarty played a full game in Premier League.

In defence of Hodges, he did not crab sideways half as often this week and just needs to get his timing on the straight runs right.

Thought it was his best game of the year today. Very solid in defense as always and came up with some vital dummy half runs late in the second half, making quite a few metres.

i think it's just his positioning on the field. in the first half he was on the left hand side of the roosters line, didn't really do much there, but when he swaped with cross to the right hand side, he opened up a bit more and had a few good runs from dummy half.

He definatly works better from right center.

I agree with Tommy Smith in that I thought it was his best game for us this year and "hopefully" he may be playing himself back into form.

Chook.

Hodges form is not the Roosters problem.

They still miss the talents of Fletcher IMO, but that Koupi? looks like he could finally fill that void, thus giving the Roosters a complete backrow again.
If Webb can come on at hooker, you could put Wing back in the 7, and the Roosters would be awesome again with Fittler running the show.

I am personally hoping they persist with the Finch-Fittler combo, that would be better for the other teams.
Hodges as much as he annoys me, is a good player more than capable of being in the side.

Tupou is the name Angry, and this kid is going to be something special. And it's funny you mention Fletch because I was saying to a mate that Tupou reminds me a lot of a young Fletch. Powerful runner and good offload.

Finch will stay our number 7 for a while. He's getting better and better and will lift this weekend against his old club. He'll do fine.

Chook.

Yes Chook that is the bloke Tupou, even built like Fletch rangy character, hard to contain, adds another dimension to the attack uo front.

Tupou I rate him. Is he a Kiwi?

I don't know about his parents, but Tupou is Newcastle born and a Newcastle junior (he played for Western Suburbs Rosellas in the Newcastle comp).
He dropped a fair amount of weight since coming to the club and gained some speed in the process.

Came to us at a staggering 123 kgs. He's now around the 105 but will probably build out to around the 108-110. Try and stop him then!!

According to all reports from inside the club he's a born leader of the younger guys at training. Rev's them up, gets them motivated, challenges them to do better. Is it any wonder we signed him till 2007?

That's good recruitment and good player management.

Drop someone from the Roosters backline so they can bring Hodges back! I need him playing 1st grade again for VNRL.
