Our season was gone weeks ago. This will just give Flanno an excuse for this week's loss he seems to be full of them this year. With Debelin gone for next year, no new quality signings and some juniors like LPT and Halangahu with hardly any NRL experience what makes anyone think next year will magically be any better? 1. We have a new recruitment manager.
2. We have plenty of unspent salary so some contracts will be front-ended, giving us more to spend for 2026.
3. We will have the opportunity to move on some of our dead wood.
4. Possibly recruit a marquee prop, halfback and promote Ramsey and some juniors for 2026.

2. More money to spend is always good. But who do we sign and why would they choose the Dragons?

4. Possibly isn't good enough in my opinion.
No disrespect but you love to throw out names to sign and if you were our recruitment manager in alternate reality we would have the Australian team. But it's just not realistic, we need a massive overhaul. Flanno was in and out during our horrible 2019-2023 period as defence coach and list manager, then he gets our head coaching role after no other club would touch him. He is one of the boys just like Deano, Craig, Doust etc What makes our club more attractive other then being able to offer more money? Absolutely nothing, next year won't be any better then this year and we all know it deep down.

Throw in Egan and R couchman coming off ACL injuries we can't just expect them to hit the ground running like nothing happened. Those serious injuries affect players differently and who knows the impact it will have on them. I hope for the best but always prepare for the worst.

Yep spot on as usual mate and often in young bodies these types of injuries can recur until their bodies mature.

Fingers crossed they all stay fit and firing for next season but we should be ensuring we have a strong top 30 so good players can be replaced with equally good players if/when injuries occur as they're part and parcel of a contact sport.
