Yet again Ch 9 F*cks up with its shocking scheduling of Manlys Home game at Bluetongue
how do they expect to get a decent crowd to the game when it is Manlys home game and the fans will have to try and negotiate the f3 on a friday !!
thumbs down to the Manly Management for even scheduling this game there (what did they expect from 9 anyway)
isnt 9 supposed to have the Match of the round on friday night,
Melb vs brisbane would have been the obvious choice but again they pander to melbourne

Pander to Melbourne? What drugs are you on boy? You're talking about an organization that has treated the Melbourne Storm and the Melbourne public like absolute sh*t for the last 10 years in regards to their rugby league telecasts/scheduling.

Thus far we've only had 3 free to air games (equal 3rd lowest in the league) and this is despite having sat on top or near top of the ladder for the last season and a half and losing 7 games in that period. We had one of those 3 games shown live down here but the other 2, not to mention every other game contested by other teams in FNF and SF we've had to wait until after midnight to see the replay and even sometimes not at all.

Oh, did i mention that we got Origin one live which was a rarity, but game 2 was delayed just as game 3 is scheduled to be? Now, can you tell how in the hell channel 9 is pandering to Melbourne because i sure as sh*t don't know what you're on about :sarcasm:

Storm V Brisbane may very well be the match of the round but have a think about it for a second. What games do you think will rate better in NSW on the Friday night, 2 games back to back with 4 NSW sides involved or one of those games followed by 2 interstate sides? I don't think you need to be Einstein figure it out. They're still going to get their coverted rating for the Storm - Bronco's game on Sunday so they win all round.

Fair enough you're pissed about the Manly game being on Friday at Gosford. But ratings is the only reason they've scheduled it like they have and it has absolutely jack sh*t to do with them "pandering" to Melbourne. f**k, i wish like christ they would pander to us but they haven't done it for 10 years and they sure as sh*t haven't started now.

Yep, I fully agree. The Manly vs Newcastle game would've been best in the Sunday 3pm timeslot. Providing conditions were good, they would've definitely got near a 20,000 attendance, as Sunday arvos go down well with the Gosford people (as was seen with the Souths vs Newcastle game earlier this year).

Infact, can i ask, why was this game shifted to Gosford? Why did Manly choose to play 11 at Brookvale and shift this game, after everything that happened with the Northern Eagles debarkle? Sounds like an unusual choice. I'm pretty sure they would've got just as big a crowd at Brookvale.

What they could've done is schedule the Mel vs Bri game on Friday Night, and make that the game that goes live into QLD and delay in NSW, and the other FN game is live into NSW and delay in QLD

I'm well aware what they could've done but doing that you wouldn't have 4 NSW's teams playing 2 games back to back. I think the way they've scheduled it they'll get maximum possible ratings hence why they did it the way they did.

Besides, i'm not disagreeing that Storm V Bronco's should be on Friday night and in all honesty it wouldn't bother me if it was. In fact it would make more sense crowd wise to have the Manly game on Sunday so people would be able to get there easier as has been pointed out. But if any of you haven't worked it out already i't's not about crowds anymore, it's about tv ratings and all i'm pointing out is why channel 9 obviously made the decision they did. It had absolutely sweet FA to do with pandering to Melbourne and to suggest otherwise is utterly ridiculous.

Not to mention that Melbourne play on the Monday before at Cronulla so i hadly think it's ideal that they'd have to play on the Friday night as well just to appease some Manly fans. It might surprise a few but the league doesn't revolve around Manly or any other team for that matter.

Would anyone else be happy if their team had to play 2 games in the shortest amount of time possible the way the draw is structured? That was a rhetorical question because we all no that the answer is a big fat no.

It's ok, we'll boost your crowd numbers  Regardless, I'd expect the crowd to be 15,000 minimum

Unless it rains, there shouldn't be any less than 18,000 ppl there, to be honest. Infact, I won't be surprised if it surpasses the Wests Tigers/Melbourne crowd there of 19,111 this year. This game should rake in the biggest crowd of the 5 games held in Gosford this year

Ohh buuuh.. Unless I can take a day of Annual leave.. there's no way I'd get there on time.

I wonder if the NRL really thinks about stuff like that?

Manly played Broncos Monday night, then had to play 4 days later on Friday night.

It certainly doesn't surprise me that league doesn't revolve around Manly based on the way the NRL schedules games.

You knob.

If given the choice, I absoloutely gaurentee Melbourne would have played on FNF (Cept for the MNF issue)

Besides which, rather than btiching about the freeway, take a walk on the wild side and get on a train from Central. It'll take about an hour to get up there. 6ish train and you'd make kickoff.

Takes me 40 minutes from East Hills to Central, and another 1 hour 40 minutes to Gosford of travelling time... and that's not including waiting up to 30 minutes for the Newcastle service.

FFS, get over it and stop whinging.

Firstly, good on Manly for taking the initiative to have a home game elsewhere, particularly the coast.

Secondly, the NRL would've been shot for two reasons: Melbourne backing up Friday after MNF, and putting NRL directly against an AFL match across the road.

Finally, if it bothers you that much, visit www.visitcentralcoast.com.au and book some friggin accommodation for the night if it's such a trip.

FTR, trains are roughly 1h 30m Central to Gosford. It's a 5 minute walk from station to stadium. Tops.

Manly played Broncos Monday night, then had to play 4 days later on Friday night.

ROUND 10
Mon 7:00 SEA EAGLES 18 BRONCOS 6 Brookvale Oval
ROUND 11
Sat 5:30 SEA EAGLES 13 STORM 12 Brookvale Oval
