A question to those that have seen both Horo and Marty Lewis play who do you rate to have the most potential and are they similar players. Could one be in our top 25 next year ?

both very good footballers.

I see Marty Lewis as important to our flegg side as Hindy is to our 1st grade side, a tireless worker in defence and a very good ball runner who's improved out of site this year he'll be eligible for the National under 20's comp.

Justin is a very big fast backrower who can also slot in in the centres with ease but I can't see him in top 25 at this stage although I know he's keen to hang around for next season but it all depends if he willing to stay as a part time player.

both very good potential but I'm more excited about Marty Lewis.

I've seen enough of Justin to say he is a talent and has a good head on his shoulders.

Smart and tough footballer and would suit the no.13 jersey if given an opportunity. Though the peoblem with that is we haven enough back rowers/lock at the club as it is

Cheers, things look good for the back row when Hindy goes, Mateo, Wellar, Lewis, Williams. Hope we keep them all.

I don't think either will be in the top 25 next year. We do have them developing but there are other players that are ready and will get there first.

I think you will find that next years top 25 will be very different to what you expect to be....

Burt Robbo
Reddy Lowrie
Hayne Weller
Grothe Fa'aoso
Tautai Cayless
Inu MoiMoi
Smith Cordoba
Finch Paulo
K.Keating Riddell
Wagon Marsh
Hindy
Mateo

That is my squad presuming Zeb goes and PJ stays. There is 22 there with 3 spots to go to a half, a centre, and a prop I think, which may come from players we buy. Can't see to many surprises there.

yeah, you wouldn't be too far wrong...don't expect any signings from other clubs to come into the top 25.

Based on that list I think the other 3 could be Brendan Oake, David Williams and 1 other. Maybe Justin Horo but there are a few others that would be competing for that spot.

I believe Dave Williams has also knocked back an offer from us and has some interest else where,

out of the current players, I wouldn't rule the 2 blokes named in the title of the thread.

Broderick Wright?

yeah..possibly, he'll be too old for flegg next year and maybe this is the reason why their grooming him in PL.

Rumour has it that the Roosters are targeting him also.

Looking at our first grade squad this year, we started with 29 (as per official Eels site).

We've confirmed that 5 are going/gone:
Cannings
Green
Hindmarsh, I
Lett, M
Tahu

That leaves 24.

We're also expecting to lose:
Oake
Taia
Tsoulos

That leaves 21.

Assuming that we are expecting to bump the following into the top 25:
Keating, K
Keating, M
Tautai

That brings us back to 24 and leaves one more spot (probably a prop).

Burt
Cayless
Cordoba
Fa'aoso
Finch
Grothe
Hauraki
Hayne
Hindmarsh
Inu
Keating, K
Keating, M
Lowrie
Marsh
Mateo
Moimoi
Paulo
Reddy
Riddell
Robinson
Smith, B
Smith, T
Tautai
Wagon
? Prop ?

I hear that Brod Wright has re-signed and is too old for flegg so would either be in the top 25 or in the 2nd tier part time squad.

I also hear that Zeb signed with the knights for 3 years from 08 onwards but there's also a chance he could be gone as early as next week.
