Horses to follow during the Spring Carnival

I am a massive fan of Pinker Pinker and Eurell as a trainer but after her win on Saturday i doubt she will be any value as she gets over more distance so i was just wondering what horses anyone else is following during the Carnival...

December Draw was ultra impressive again. Interesting to see how it stacks up at Caulfield. Should do well in the cups with the light weight.

Huge fan of Secret Admire, she ran brilliantly on the weekend, unlucky not to win. Should be in for a few wins this Spring.

Sincero - Besides Whobe the WFA stocks are pretty thin, he could be the one to step up and have a big spring. He beat a very good horse first up and he was as big as a house.

Another horse i have been following for a while is Base, he ran a cracking 4th last start in the Balaklava Cup i reckon he might jag a decent race this prep.

Rekindled Alliance. Only won his maiden at a Canterbury midweeker last month and got done by a nostril in a handicap at Rosehill the other weekend in his second start, but looks to have plenty of ability and reckon he'll be back in the winners stall soon in the lead up to the Guineas which looks to be the most likely path. Might take some early odds for that as well even though he'll be going up against the likes of Smart Missile and Helmet.

Ah, last year Linton was my watch horse - killed me when it couldn't finish the Melbourne Cup! Smart Missile at WFA seems hard to beat. The three year olds are the watch for mine.

Smart Missle has drawn the outside gate, i have a big wrap on this years crop of 3 yr olds. Lets face it the WFA form is rubbish ATM so maybe one of them will step up and win the Cox plate. Of the older horses Sincero could be the one to step up if he can run the 2000m there is no reason why he can't feature int he big races.

I like the kiwi Jimmy Choux if he comes for the Cox Plate..

Other than that all the rest i like have already been mentioned (Sincero,Secret Admirer etc)..

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Manawanui..He is a real good horse to be able to win a big Group 1 like the Golden Rose ridden upside down..Versatility like that is the sign of a WFA horse..

Torio's Quest is another horse who may win a decent race this prep, the Emirates would be right up his alley.

Looks like Helmet will be that horse..That was some sort of win in the Caulfield Guineas..He had good horses off the bit most of the race..Manawanui was game in defeat, but Helmet was pulling away again on the post..

My tip Jimmy Choux looks to be his biggest danger..The NZ WFA form this spring has been sensational,& was franked by King Mufasa in the Toorak..

The Cups look to be as open as they have been any time in the last 20 years..

I love December Draw, but just doubt whether he will stay 2 miles..

Jimmy Choux is an absolute special for the Cox Plate for mine, that Spring Classic race was the perfect lead in.

My 13's are looking pretty good for the Cox plate now :) Decemember Draw maybe a query at the distance, but it's looking a pretty weak Caulfield Cup he may be just too goo for them. Lights of Heaven has been dissapointing but she drops to 51kgs so i expect her to do something.

Anyone watch Atlantic Jewel win the 1000 Guinea's???? She is absolutely outstanding.

Was impressive but the race was set up perfectly they went that hard up front.

Im not complaining with the $1.90 I got however im not getting carried away and if she does try her luck in the Cox Plate ill be laying her.

Mosheen was the run of the race for mine stuck on gamely after sitting on the pace the whole race.

I doubt they will run her in the Cox Plate, if Kav has his way she will go straight to the paddock. Mosheen ran well but she is not in the same post code as the winner.

Will be intersting to see how it pans out.

How must MK be feeling though losing Whobe for the spring and having Atlantic Jewell and December draw to progress with.

Could be his spring Carnival.

It wouldn't be spring without Kav, he always bobs up with a good horse. Rahveel was a good run looking for an Oaks prospect.

Atlantic Jewel looks one right out of the box..

Kavanagh said in the post race interview he wants to spell her straight away..

I would too..3yo fillies almost never win Cox Plates..Surround in 1976 is the only one to win in the history of the race..

If she can find this form next Autumn she will be a chance in just about any race she enters..

This 3yo crop look to be a pretty good bunch with Helmet,Sepoy,Manawanui & Atlantic Jewel looking to be outstanding..
