House of Cards - New Kevin Spacey TV show

Anyone who has an interest in US politics should check out this new show.

Tells the story of the going on behind the scenes in politics.

Spacey is the majority whip who wields lots of influence behind the scene.


One strange thing about the show is it breaks the third wall, with spacey talking to the camera a few times an episode.

David Fincher even directs a few episodes.


Also stars Robin Wright.

Sounds like a remake of a British series of the same name from 1990.

Main character was a Machiavellian bastard who engineers his own rise to PM after being screwed over by his party.

Yep.

Same story line here. Spacey gunning for president.


Spacey plays a southern democrat.

It's broader and more fleshed out than the UK one, covers less ground in the same time but never feels slow. There's not a poor performance from anyone, strong all around.

Its on my to watch list. I've got it downloaded just haven't got around to it. Heard good things though. Netflix is doing some good original programming. There is the arrested development relaunch next month on top of this.

I'm about 7 episodes in, started well, getting a bit "out there" now but still loving it, I'll finish the rest by the weekend. Spacey is awesome as always.

I just finished season 3 as well, incredible show. I see Claire as a Hillary Clinton type, she'll probably run for senator or congress next season.

I still haven't watched the 4th season yet. Looking forward to it when I get around to it, loved the first three.

Hadn't seen this until I bought the first season on DVD last August and proceeded to binge watch all 3 seasons within about a week and a half (helped that I was off work with the flu).

Have to say I liked season 4 more than season 3.
