if he can't handle it then he should quit the game, any player can tackle another player until its called held.

so thats a new rule if you get injured their has to be someone suspended.

if that tackle is illegal (not talking about the timing about when to call held) then the game should be given up.

imo the injury probley would have happened if the ref had just yelled held also we tried it just afterwards and got called held straight away

i think it was on nrl scoreboard last night it said something about the fitzy tackle noit sure what it was but if daley (who hates us for some reason) found something wrong with it than something must have happened

The Wiki tackle was totally legitimate. Don't get me wrong.

I just thought it was perhaps a little over the top by Wiki. A bit of a cheap shot. Not something I associate with Ruben who I have the utmost respect for. Anyone calling him a cat is laughable.

McDonnell had his arms pinned and was hit high.

It's hardly brave.

At least O'Meley went 1v1 with a a prop not the smallest player in the comp who had both arms pinned

It was extremely ordinary at best

As i`ve heard other people mention, this tackle was similar to the Morley hit on Ben Walker earlier in the season. Much fuss was made about that tackle, but little about this one, why ???

I must admit, it all seemed a bit puzzling. I heard what Greg McCallum's report was, it looked to me as though Ruben didn't necessarily raise the forearm for self preservation.

Nothing wrong with running in third into the tackle, the Warriors use this tactic a fair bit to try and gain dominance at the ruck and it generally works quite well. More a problem with the actual tackling action in this case.

Watching NRL Scoreboard last nite they showed another angle I hadnt seen before.....this was more ground level and to the side rather than from behind what Id seen before...I was OK with it originally having only seen it from behind but seeingthe new footage last nite he definitely hits him in the head with either shoulder/upper arm or both.
This is illegal and anyone pushing the "the kid should expect this in NRL" crap is just a troll.

Illegal...end of.

 Not surprised you missed the point, anyone with half a brain would see who that was directed at.

I didn't think it belonged at judiciary, but I wasn't particuarly impressed by Wiki's hit. I'm a big fan of Wiki usually, but to hit an 18 year old rookie like that was a little off.

ohh my god, your kidding arnt you?
He is playing NRL footy, no one should go easy on him because he is a rookie? Laughable!

there was absolutely nothing wrong with the shot, a good bloody hit IMO, chalk up another victum of a wiki special. That said i havnt seen this other footage ink is talking about so i cant comment on that...

These things happen in league, such is life. Welcome to the big time Shannon, im sure he'll sleep soundly at night knowing no one else in this comp hits as hard as Rubin does

Anyone with a quarter of a brain will see how hypocritical you are being. One moment you are saying you were initially cool with the treatment McDonnell received from Wiki. Then only after you were fortunate enough to see another angle everyone is a "troll" who disagrees with you?

It's not something I'd associate with Wiki. In fact i've never seen him do it prior and I didn't find it particularly brave. I'd call it a cheap shot no matter what, the fact that it was illegal (If Ink is correct) and was on an 80 KG fullback just makes it worse.

The execution of the tackle had nothing to do with Wiki's skill as a hit man (though I don't doubt he's brilliant). Any prop in the NRL could have done that to McDonnell or most backs in the NRL. But they don't.

If it was O'donnell on Zillman I wonder what you'd be saying.
