How good will it get for the Warriors???

You just have to marvel at how far the Warriors have come this season. At the start of the season, all the Warriors were concerned about is being competitive. Now, they are competingto stay in the top 8.

All the youngsters that have popped up that nobody had even heard of became overnight successes such as Motu Tony and Ifeata Paleaasina. The maturing of others in the club such as Monty Betham, Jerry Seu Seu and Ali Lauitiiti. And the cementing of places within the team with Meli, Faafili and Toopi.

The Warriors have come a long way, baby. But have they come too far??? For most people in NZ, they are just awakening to the fact that we actually have a good side, somewhere. The Warriors are now getting media exposure they didn't have before. People are slowly disappearing to put on a '95 Warriors jersey so they can pop out and say "I've been a Warriors fan for all these years...". People like Murray Deaker & TV3.

Oh, what will become if the Warriors miss out on the 8. They certainly shouldn't but what if the unthinkable happens and they did. We would have the likes of Deaker & TV3 saying I told you so and the NZ public would all say in chorus "Typical bloody Warriors". Yes, the NZ public knows best, don't they.

Even if the Warriors don't make the 8, imho, they have done enough to come this far. The team has shown so much potential, that next season will be well worth waiting for. The fact is, the NZ public in general will not know know how much this team has achieved, nor will they appreciate where the team got to. Brace yourselves for the barrage, then just dust it off.

But we can all be at least 70% sure that the Warriors will make it. And once they get there, who knows how much further they'll go. But we can all be proud of the guys and once again walk the street with our Warriors jerseys on without being mocked or ridiculed.

Yes,the old '95 jersey is looking a bit worn.Tho,I'm sure another that used to be in this household, has been spotted at Marathon during the Knights home games ...
Thanks to Sky,I now have a 2001 jersey to wear with pride.

Watching the NZ Warriors awards on the tele tonite, one thing that shone thru for me,was the kinship that exists in the Club. From Mick Watson's speech at the beginning,to the players speeches, and the video footage,it was there. The pride, the passion ,the works..
Great to see the Mad Butcher getting recognised as the league ambassador that he is.
Shame the show wasn't a couple of hours longer.

The Warriors have so far this year, done a hell of a lot more than most people predicted at the beginning of the season.Even if they get no further in the next two rounds, they can all hold their heads high.
I just hope the media don't jump on the bandwagon and convince the younger members, and the public that the Warriors are invincible.
Tho seems Daniel Anderson has instilled in them, the 'one game at a time' attitude, and it's working.

So,on Monday nite,I'm sure no matter what happens, the NZ Warriors will have played their hearts out.
And I'm sure I'll have great pleasureto see my brother,an avid Storm fan, sulking in the stands,(sorry RJ) ...

I think the awards ceremony on Wednesday night was a prime example of how far the club has come. I was relieved to see it held as a classy affair at the Sheraton rather than the circus act it was last year.

What an honour for Peter Leitch to receive, the retiring of the #19 jersey. Mind you, the guy has thoroughly deserved it and to be gifted with something like that is the perfect tribute.

On recent form, I cannot see the Warriors missing out on the 8. I think they may lose this game against the Storm, but they'll comprehensively beat the Cowboys in front of a blockbuster crowd @ Ericsson. That's my take on the situation. Wouldn't it be great to see over 20,000 there watching them play the Cowboys. There should be more, hell, I may even make the trip up. The team deserves a sell out to send them on to the finals series.

Bring on the Bulldogs in the finals I say!!!!!!!!
