How many $ is each player in your top 25 on?

Until the NRL makes player salaries public like american sports you can only guess, even then you can't tell how much is coming from third party agreements, marquee player allowance and long serving player allowance on top of their base salary.

If you averaged out the number of minutes per year a player has earned his money to date and is in for argument's sake the one million dollar a year category some rough estimates . . . Cam Smith earns about $475 per minute each year, Hayne $575, Inglis $500

If Tedesco was paid a million each year he would have earned $1350 per minute, Ennis $600, Jake Friend $600 and so it goes. These examples are if the player plays 80 minutes per game almost every game, Hayne only played for 40 minutes although he was on the field, Tedesco rarely finishes a game and Friend doesn't play the 80

Sorry . . . I couldn't help myself

Great theory......except they are not all on $1 million dollars, making your point completely invalid.

And those that are on $1 million are on the money for things other than "dollars per minute played". Things like getting people to pay their hard earned to watch a game.

I could name plenty of people who would pay to see Inglis or Hayne run around. Not so many to watch a bum chinned grub who wrestles and throws half a dozen forward passes a game. Sorry...couldn't help myself.

Cant wait to see Bonko2010 & Kiwi's take...Im guessing after their top 25 they still have a mill or two laying around taking up space.

Great fun taking the piss when a question is asked that can't be answered isn't it

If my family's life relied on a team I picked Smith would be the first player I'd choose. He plays in less losing games than any other player, any team he is expected to play in suffers more by his absence than any other player, he plays more minutes that count than any player, he handles the ball more than any other player and by the minute is paid less than too many players . . . on the books that is

You're right about one thing, people would pay to see Inglis and Hayne run around, they don't have to pay to see Smith run around

Is there a possibility that big financial news will be revealed in this thread?

No one truely knows. Really all you have is news paper articles to go by. Zero tackle lists amounts next to players gained from papers. That would be as close as anyone could get really.

I know the price of every single player in the NRL based off of this forum, the formula is as follows:

Signs with new club: ah we got him for peanuts, he's not even taking up any of the cap
Leaves club: he was on a bazillion dollars, we can now sign 3 rep players

Follow above formula and you'll never need to guess how much anyone is on again, it applies very well to the Bulldogs recruitment

The guys in bold are definitely on overs considering their 2014 performances.

Brett Morris + your halves salary would be about double that

LOL hodko was signed from manly for massive money at the time, he wasn't a reject in anyway

Plus players have built in bonuses into their contract that get activated if they play origin/tests. They'd be on a minimum $400k each

Yeh hodko a manly reject and an unproven Reynolds two years ago...totes be on $500k each

Reject? You really have no idea do you? Don't you remember, the world was going to collapse for Manly after he left because the promising young Hodko had signed on a big contract with the dogs and Manly were left with the untested DCE.
