How to fix the Raiders?

Looks like they are in for a long couple years under ricky stuart, they don't have that very good crop from the under 20s coming through this year and there usually strong under 20s team is struggling this year, they are losing their best player and don't have a fb for next season since its highly unlikely R Robinson will be at raiders next year.

They tried to snap up a couple marquee signings but have failed and have only been able to attract waqa at the moment, there is talk they are closing to bringing in a couple ESL boys but I highly doubt they will make a big impact in the NRL.

The players pretty much put out the same rubbish every week and still get picked talking about guys like Campese and White, looks like they need a full clean out starting from the top in the board room, they just need fresh air on the field and off the field.

What does everyone else think?

The raiders are an organisation put together to keep a few bored, old men entertained.

They have absolute disdain for their supporters and no knowledge of the modern game of rugby league.

That's why don isn't held accountable and why Stuart will get a looooong run at the helm - they are in/related to the old boys club.

The fact that Dave Furner got punted was close to the biggest surprise I've ever seen

I disagree on the not having a good crop of youngster coming though. Yes they are losing their best player in Milford, but the certainly have some very exciting young players. Brenko and Edrik Lee, Ahearn, Cornish, Boyd, Croker and Wighton to name a few are all very young and promising.

The Raiders need a couple of things, a decent front row including a hooker and a coach that knows what he is doing.

You think McCrone and campese are good halves?

Stuart is only half the problem.

Ultimately they're f**ked due to the club's location. Nobody wants to go and play there and none of their promising juniors want to stay there.

Not even the best coaches can much without the cattle...so with Stuart in charge of a bunch of complete plods it's a recipe for disaster.

Other than a new coach, better forwards, new halves, a new hooker, a fullback, something to do in the city beyond watching toenails grow, a new club board, less politicians, beaches, less cold weather, less feral players, less nepotism and more heart... there really isn't anything Canberra needs.

Almost sorted, I'd say.

They need someone who can teach them what to do at training, analyse the players' ability to carry out those instructions and tell them what to do at half time if something needs changing . . . don't know what the fuss is about

Ricky Stuart inherited a steaming, stinking turd resulting from piss poor upper management.

Campese extended for 5 years and they've got maybe two. out of him.

Step 1 - Remove the club from the Queanbeyan Leagues Club's control
Step 2 - Burn the club to the ground, administrators, coaches, players, the lot.
Step 3 - Start the entire thing from scratch

I know he's a club legend, but the Panthers sacked Royce Simmons after he came last, and within 2 seasons won the comp.

Having club legends as coach hasn't worked since the days of Clive Churchill and Norm Provan. And even Provan took the Dragons from premiers to merely semi finalists.

Campo looks like a fat old man out there and sticky has already worked his 'magic' on what was once one of the best halves prospects in the game, it a damn shame but it's no surprise either, I'm sure at some point Cornish will be blamed by Sticky for his own inadequacies and thrown on the heap and shipped off the England, never to be seen again. It's what sticky does!

For 2015

Step One

Board has to resign. Furner as well. Replaced by people who actually want to succeed. Are there any in Canberra?
Id go with...Brad Clyde, The dude that runs the airport. Jon Snow. The bloke who wanted in on the a league team. maybe some other canberra types.

Step Two

Coach is punted. he stinks.

Replace with Brian Smith, Daniel Anderson, Nathan Brown, Kevin Walters or whoever.
maybe a young coach. but id go with a director of coaching with experience as well.

Step Three

Punt Campese,. he's past it. Mccrone never had it, Shillington is soft, TLL never plays, White is a standard melbourne guy. does nothing away from the big 3. and Sami Salami, Reece Robinson etc

Put all ya eggs in the Snake/Watmough basket. They also need forwards. Hooker especially.Say Anthony Mitchell.

1. Brett Stewart

2. Sisa Waqa
3. Jarrod Croker
4. Edrick Lee
5. Brenko Lee
6. Jack Wighton

7. Mitch Cornish
8. James Hasson
9. Anthony Mitchell
10. Shannon Boyd
11. Anthony Watmough
11. Josh Papali
13. Shaun Fensom

14. Joel Edwards
15. Jarrad Kennedy
16. Paul Vaughan
17. Dane Tilse

Step 4. Make the tickets like 10 bucks in the night winter games to get more people to go etc. id also have a fan initiative to make more f**kn noise. every member gets a viking horn. its sooooo quiet at canberra stadium.

step 5. Lobby the federal govt to get that fast train in.
1 hour commute to sydney may convince players to play in canberra but live in sydney.

step 6. keep burning tyres until the sea level rises enough that we have a beach. f**k you, eastern seaboard
