It would be awesome for the international game but I can't see the media being that fussed. More likely to just play it down and blame it on Australia's injuries/not taking it seriously enough.

If it's a close series, say 1-1 going to the last, I think the sports editors would probably take a view that it was worth covering in some detail and give it more than one 500 word piece. If GB win the series, it might even persuade them to give their RL correspondents some more space for SL.

It's a shambles the way the media treat TGG a BG Ashes victory would be the bigget moment in 2003 sport.

An important point that hasn't been made so far.

In the UK important football matches traditionally take place on a Saturday afternoon. This gives the sports writers plenty of time to file copy and their editors time to react to big stories. The tests kick off at 6.00 to meet Sky's scheduling requirements. RL shoots itself on the foot, again.

If England RU lost the World Cup, and we (GBR) won the series we would no doubt get excellent coverage. But, if England RU win the World Cup it wont get much coverage.

It's a real shame. These bloody Poms invented the game, they should give it more credit and coverage  :x :x
