Huddersfield-Castleford Match Summary

Huddersfield 12 Castleford 29

Attendance: 3,231

Highlights:
-We played well for the majority of the 80 minutes. Apart from the usual dropping off a bit after half time, we played consistently well.
-Waine Pryce. Along with many other Cas fans, I myself have given him a lot of stick. That was the Pryce of old we saw, when he equalled the consecutive tries scored back in 2002. His defence was also very good.
-In fact, all 17 played well. Tookey and Lynch went well going forward, Davis and Maloney directed the players well, and out on the wings we were strong as well.
-A strong ref. I'll get a lot of stick particularly from the Huddersfield fans for this, but I felt he penalised Huddersfield appropriately for their spoiling tactics. I know Castleford aren't exactly angels, and we did have the benefit of the doubt when Ryan Hudson scored (although attacking teams are meant to be given the benefit of the doubt), but I have seen Huddersfield play 4 times this season, and each time it seems they are a very dirty team. Sorry, but that's the way I see it.

Lowlights:
-As mentioned above, the period after half time when we seemed to drop off the pace a little. It was nothing major though.

Estimated Cas Fans:1503

How were the Cas Fans?In my opinion, very noisy. There aren't many teams at the bottom of the table, who haven't won an away game since beating London away, that would take 1503 fans to Huddersfield. Especially after the teams 'performance' last week against Wakefield. We need to turn out in numbers, and continue to be noisy, in our remaining 5 games to give the team a boost.

Comedy Moment:Not that many. It was nice to see Bin Laden, Shrek etc at the game. Ian Smith almost falling over after clashing with a Huddersfield player was amusing as well.

In a nutshell:Once again we've given ourselves a chance of getting out of this mess. Our next two games against Hull and Leeds, will be very hard .We also need Huddersfield to do us a favour against Widnes.
But ultimately it's up to us, not Huddersfield etc, to stay up. If we win our remaining games we will stay up, simple as that.

Please note these are my views and not those of the supporters club

Congrats Hightown, a long awaited strong performance from the Tigers, right when you lot needed it.

Round 27 Cas v Widnes should be the key game, all things being equal.

Indeed it will.
The next two weeks are very important. We play Hull at home, followed by Leeds away.
Widnes play Huddersfield at home and then Wigan at home I think.
I can see Widnes beating Huddersfield.
