 Who would have thought that?

I bet even the most devoted 10 year old fans never even dreamt of their season starting with 3 wins from 4 games. I was at a do at Warrington RL pre-season and several former players were discussing KR's chances. They all said they would struggle, most thinking they would end the season with about 1 or 2 wins and a series of 40 point hammerings.

2 from 2 away from home is a spectacular start. Morgan's star is rising rapidly in this side of the ocean. I think the next big job in Super League (Hull/Saints/Wire/Wigan/Bulls/Rhinos) is his for the taking.

Even strangerer is that Harlequins and Warrington  could finish tomorrow on top of the table.

What is the world coming to?

Fantastically unpredictable so far this season.

Full credit to Justin Morgan, he oozes concentration and confidence and has not been swayed by the difficulty of the task for KR.

Great stuff by Morgan and Hull KR. thoroughly deserved.

But surely this is the final straw for Wigan fans, how can the men who put this farce of a team together keep their jobs,

Lets look at it, they are up to their necks in trouble with the salary cap, they have 10 overseas players and most of them can't play.
They continually let good players leave to fill the spots with journeymen.

The latest news is it looks like Chris Ashton is heading to Rugby Union, Mark Calderwood is not happy and wants out.
I recall Mo on radio 2 years ago saying Wigan will never again be signing 30yo Aussies.
Not sure what he thinks Millard and Withers are.

Remember in 2005 Maurice Lindsey and Dave Whelan said they would relinquish control of Wigan RL and walk away altogether if they did not win a major trophy within 4 years.

Their main problem is player retention decisions. They have 10 average overseas players, yet about a quarter of the British players in Super League were either from Wigan or came through Wigan's academy. The talent is there, but it is not used properly.

Wigan should have used the last few seasons to blood their young players en masse.

Or Bryan Fletcher for that matter?

Wigan have a record of buying scrum halves from Harlequins who play well with the London club then become duds at Wigan. e.g. Dennis Moran and now Tommy Leuleuai.

Meanwhile Wigan have given Quins not only a talented young Wigan product (Chris Melling) but also a talented scrum half named Danny Orr.

While it is good to see a promoted team somewhere other than the bottom of the table, this only vindicates the rants of annoying Hull KR fans on various messageboards who have said for years that a spot in SL is belongs to them by divine right. :p

The honeymoon cannot last forever.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them ;-)
