Hybrid system for Super League

North England to act as a 10 team franchise block, with promotion and relegation to round out the 10 keeping the tradition and prospects the same for North England.
Outside of North England is individual franchises starting with 4 licences, with the best candidates based on finances, stadiums, geography and availability of talent and participation.

This provides the best of both worlds.

You make a good point because Newcastle would be a great example of somewhere that should get a franchise.
I think I'd have to be based on history.
Clubs who have been in the pr system for 20+ years belong in that system.

No systems perfect, it'll need some thought but you get the idea.

I thought you were suggesting 4 clubs should be exempt? So in theory those 4 clubs could finish 7th-10th place leaving the 6th place club to be relegated. Of have I miss understood what you are proposing?

There's 10 English clubs.
If the 4 clubs that are exempt finished 7th to 10th then the 10th placed English club would be 14th .

10 English teams- the lowest rankings of those is relegated and replaced by another English team in the franchise block.
The only pr is within the 10 English clubs. The best you can finish and be relegated would be 10th.

I see what you’re saying, so you can get relegated from 10th place in a 14 team comp. Yeh, nah.
