Hypothetically speaking, If Kobe was found Guilty of Rape....?

Would Laker fans....I meant Kobe fans, defend him to the grave?

Meaning, that Kobe Jockers will forever protect/defend their beloved little Kobe.

I'm a Laker fan, but this is getting out of hand. At some point you gotta admit that Kobe was a f*ckin prick for cheating on his wife, and trying to make things right again by buying her a Big Diamond Ring.

He's in some pretty elite company, along with Jordan, Magic, Shaq. Buying that big diamond ring was alot cheaper than following the Jordan way. I still feel for MJ over that divorce.

Edit: I know, i just couldn't help myself.

Certainly appears the original question has been answered.

And I don't recall MJ, Shaq or anyone else having to settle a civil suit out of court in order for criminal charges to be dropped.....

You're right, those guys just got divorced. Since were going down that road, I don't recall anyone else having to pay over 150 million in a divorce settlement. I'm not trying to start a bitch-fight here. I'm not exactly trying to defend Kobe as i think he deserved the Civil suit;if your stupid enough to be a mega-star athlete and cheat on your wife while on the road, then you deserve to be exposed. Just trying to point out that Kobe isn't the first, or last, NBA superstar to cheat on his wife while on the road.

Hang on - he isn't the first superstar to "cheat" on his wife - but he is the first to be charged with rape and possibly would have been convicted had the victim agreed to testify. The rape charges were dropped after the victim refused to testify because she brought a civil suit which was settled out of court. For what I can only assume was a lot of money.

But you're right, buying a diamond ring and selling your soul (and a couple investment properties) to avoid going to jail is a lot better than having to make a $150m divorce settlement. Kobe finally trumps MJ in something!
