Wasn't it that at the start of the year a journo wrote that should the Bunnies win the comp that they would be over the cap?

If this is the case, why didn't the NRL act on it? Do they only act once the payments are made? Dosn't seem to make much sense.

for the same reason the nrl didnt act on the 10'000 salary cap "rumours" that effected your club..............no substance

or probably because they had their payments structured so that there were heaps of incentives built into them. That way if they did win the GF the incentives would have been so huge that they would have been over the cap and so had to use the Bulldog rule and roll them over into 2004. It's not like they were ever in any danger though was it? More like they saved squillions in unearned incentives (unless they were paying incentives for losses).
