who in here thinks that Fitler will come out of retierment at some time during the 2005 season. IMO, i think that he will to TRY & get his fairytale ending. Rorters will use him to get more bandwagon fans to jump ship as a marketing ploy. What do you think melon?

Sounds like you've been talking to Mr Theory himself..Matthew O'Neill. He states "Not if...when". Theres a small chance he may. I doubt it, and thats from discussions with club officials and the man himself.

If a few key injuries and id say he would be odds on but if the halves remain healthy he wont.

The guy is a Legend and deserves to enjoy his retirement as he has nothing to prove to anyone.

The Roosters will obviously suffer lack of cohesion without him, but I hope he doesn't come back!

so what if he does come back??...I'd say the Roosters would have to be struggling big time for it to happen.

To play the devil's advocate...Brad Fittler would have to be a registered player with a CRL/NSWRL club (playing X amount of games to qualify) to be able to receive the call up from the Sydney Roosters wouldn't he?

If the answer is no, any NRL club could retire a champion player taking him out of salary cap calculations in which then be able to "call him up" if the coach desired.

Brisbane called up Paul Green, Ben Ikin and Darren Smith last season though all were eligble as they were registered players in the Queensland Cup competition...

I am certain there is a ruling here though I have not been able to come across anything concrete so to speak...I have went to the length of e-mailing the NRL though have not received a reply as this was an idea I touted late last season though the idea was shelved after a conversation I had with CRL types who touched on the ruling.

Any confirmation would be appreciated though I do not think we will see Brad Fittler running around in the NRL in 2005.

If he did come back it would because he wanted to. It wouldn't be because Easts were struggling. And if he did come back, so what. Would all of the cretins out there jump up and down and scream blue murder? Langer did it and so have plenty of others without any hysteria but I'll guarantee that if Fittler did come back, the morons will scream and carry on about it. I don't think he will but if he does, good luck to him. There wouldn't be a club in the world who wouldn't welcome Freddy with open arms.

pipedreams

Imagine if he came back, only to be denied again, it would tarnish his reputation alot to be associated so heavily with a team thats badly choked 3 years in a row.

also cap issues would make it hard, and hopefully freddy will have a bit of a sense and stay retired.

For you to say that we choked in the GF against C%nterbury means that you believe we lost the GF rather than the cheating Dogs winning it. We did blow it. That last 10 minutes the cheating Dogs were on their last legs, unfortunately we couldn't land the telling blow.

We've won 12 comps chump and we've survived for nearly 100 years. Brisbane's demise has already begun. No premiership or grand final for 5 years and looking at your team for 05 you'll be struggling to make the 8.
