Replay that infamous press confernce from the Super League war days when Fatty Vautin replied to probing NEWS LTD journo Piers Ackermann with something along the the lines of "what would you know ya fat heap of shit".

It was when Fatty was aligned with the ARL and he was fronting a presser with maybe Arko and a few others.

The Fat man couldn't take the heat and he just cracked (crack a fatty!! :D )

C'Mon Boots'n All play this little beauty!

I doubt they would.

Anyone remember it?

Apparently Piers Ackerman's knowledge of league and its commentators was so great, that when he got back to the office after the press conference, he told his workmates, " I've just been insulted by someone called Fatso Vaughan"......

He should have stuck to his right wing opinion columns I think....

I wonder if Boots and All will do a story on the self interest of the Roosters in requesting a $200K salary cap increase to live in Bondi.

What about the greedyness of every super league club in starting a new comp to get more money?
Dickhead.
I think an anti super-league montage would be very funny

Oh and what is the email for Boots n All? I need to make a request.

Fatty was always against super league, I once read an article where he said everytime he had to commentate a super league game, it was like someone was ripping out his heart. I'll always support him for sticking loyal.

Why then did he call the games.

It wouldn't have been for the money he was getting, or was it.

I remember when the 'fans' of Fatty raised money so he could join the Broncos & he was interviewing Michael Hancock & he said I almost joined the Broncos because fans raised my contract money.

Hancock replied the Broncos players raised more money to keep you from playing with the Broncos.

I once read a website that had a very long, in depth analysis of the legal case... but in layman's terms. Based an assignment on it in high school.

No idea if its still out there on the www though. I'll have a look.

That's rich Super League scum talking about self interest!

So basically you're saying that if a club acts in it's own self interest instead of the interests of the other clubs then they are scum?

Not at all DJ1 but Super League changed the game forever.

Now it's a business and a business must look after its own interests above all others.

Before Super League there was a more socialist feel to the game, of course clubs have always looked for an advantage over their opposition but now , thanks to Super Leaguie and its supporters it's more ruthless.

what happened when ribot was on the footy show. what did he say that got the boys so fired up

Bascially the same lies that were told for years afterwards. He said they didnt make players sign on the spot (Ritson then came on and said they were), they weren't forced into anything, we were not decitful, Super League has always been about the game etc etc. The game was destructing and fans were turning away in disgust and here was a guy saying what a 'good' job they were doing.

He didnt really get the 'boys' fired up, Sterlo and Fatty and whoever else did thier usual fence sitting.

Vautin was such a hypocrite throughout the whoel sad episode...slamming SuperLeague then pathetically bwoing ans scraping when 'reconciliation' was reached. I will never forget the FootyShow where he interviewed Clyde and Daley following the court case. Sad and pathetic.

If Vautin was such a hero, and if commenting on SuperLeague games was such a burden on him, why'd he do it? Obviously, for the money. The same reason that SuperLeauge kicked off, the same reason that the players signed up and the same reason the game of rugby leage has gone through such a crap time.

But Vautin as a hero? He was nothing but a pathetic opportunist...and he was far from alone in that.
