I would rather certain people come out and say, 'I have a distinct hatred for the Melbourne Storm"

I love beating the Storm, I don't hate them I find it funny people jump at Cam for doing what other players do.

He is an easy target. If this were wrestling he'd be the greatest heel in the game ever, he just riles people up.

Imagine if the Storm had to go 43 years for a Premiership? Or 34 years and counting? Or 26 years and counting? Hell, the Roosters had to go 27 years between drinks.

All great clubs/eras come to an end. As soon as Cam Smith exits the building, the Storm will join that long list of LOL@ clubs who have fanbases that barely remember the last time their club held aloft that magic cup and said "We are the masters!!!"

Yep. The upcoming triple whammy of Cam retiring, Bellamy retiring or moving on & a 2nd Brisbane team (so Qld talent have a Brisbane option that's not the Broncos) will kneecap the Storm in next 3-5 years.

Exactly iunder news limited they contributed so much money on this team, they wanted early success for this team created by corporate board members.

The Storm have the blood of Souths, Norths, Wests, Balmain, St George, Illawarra, Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide on their hands.

And whilst I do like Cam, Billy and Cooper plus many other Storm players, when I've had enough to drink, I like to sit back and remind people that their success is built on the bones of many, many teams that suffered for their inclusion.

Wait, does he think people DON'T come out and say they have a distinct hatred for the Storm? Most do.

I actually don't mind the Storm, and think a lot of the criticism, re: the wrestle, have been overblown when other teams have actually been worse at it. I loved watching Cronk and Slater play, Munster and Pap have been entertaining, and Finucane is a workhorse that deserved his SOO jersey.

But Cam Smith is a merkin. Good player, but just a prick. There is a reason why he has had fallings out with team mates, and on the tale end of his career he is demanding high money when other club players have reduced their contracts.

He would have been better off building on the fact Melbourne are pretty good at adapting to whatever is thrown at them, and as such have remained competitive despite rule changes, and star players leaving or retiring. Just comes across as conceited.

Last week everyone was complementing cam about what a great player he was, still the best hooker, how he's adapted to the new rules .

Now one criticism about being a pocket ref and the sooking starts.

I don't hate the Storm. They have had more sustained success over the last 20 years than any other club. Irrespective of the salary cap sanctions.

I don't hate Cameron Smith either. Whatever he does on the field in dealing with the referees is annoying when I'm an opposition fan, but I actually admire him for it. I'd love it if the captain of my team did the same with the same effect, and we had the sustained success of the Storm. The only thing I wouldn't have is the salary cap rorts.

The NRL is far better off with the Storm in it. I absolutely respect the club. And at the very least, it gives other fans a target of their hatred, formerly the crown held by the Broncos, then Manly.
