India are the team to beat.

Spinners, fast bowlers and batters are all excellent. Their fielding is also top drawer.

We're not quite there, too inconsistent with the bat, our 5th bowling options are all ugly.

We keep getting the balance wrong with the bat in ODIs.

Marsh is not an opener and moving him weakens the middle order. Green is not a 7, he's not a slogger. He plays top 4 or doesn't play at all. Carey is not an international cricketer on form.

If we're going to pick Smith and Labs we need power after them. Stoin or Green to open til Head is back, Marsh 5, Inglis in for Carey at 7.

Agree.

I'd rate India 9/10 yesterday. Their top order had a rare bad day. Everything else about them was excellent.

I'd give us 2/10 yesterday.....for Warner, Smith and Starc's habit of causing havoc early. The rest had matches to forget. We need to have a serious look at bringing in another spinner, Carey, Marnus and Green's spots. Marsh had a lemon but has been good recently and should have some brownie points.

Can’t say I’m shocked, the batting line up is about as well balanced as the Bulldogs salary cap. Too many Bitza players, we won’t make the Semis I said the same in the Eels forum weeks ago. Should of picked Murphy.

India's fielding was elite last night.

Having heard the Bison dropped Kohli summed up the difference between the 2 teams.

Having an Indian team outfield Australia is deadset embarrassing. Who is the fielding coach.

Is Labuschagne and Smudge batting together going to work. It feels too 2010 like having those two especially when you look at how South Africa batted the other night.

I would leave Green or even potentially Cummins out and play Abbott sounds crazy. But Abbott can at least hit a quick fire 40 at the end of an innings and a better bowler then Green.

Yeah seriously if they dont win it.

They have seriously wasted the Kohli era when it comes to World Tournaments. He was there in 2011.

But peak Kohli & India have nothing to show for in white ball cricket since the champions trophy 2013.

We have won more World Cups then India in that period.

Cummins is too good to leave out but Abbott for Green 100%

Meaningless change IMO. We need middle order power, not a different number 8 who bowls basically the same as the rest of our attack.

Apart from batting balance we consistently overlook the value of a bowler with lots of variations in white ball cricket. Granted Sabba has more than the rest of the bowlers we've taken but it's an issue the selectors need to deal with.

Green should open or not be in the team.

Inglis should come in for Carey.

Marsh should bat 4.

Yep - no question - RSA and Pakistan interesting, NZ a rough chance because we don't usually beat ourselves and India don't really rate us (and unlike v Aust, we seldom seem overwhelmed playing them), and despite two poundings I still think Aust and England are in with a real chance - I mean Stoinis and Stokes didn't play, right?

Didn't deserve to win but if Marsh contributes with the bat and in the field it's a closer contest.

Definitely questions around the top order. As said already it does have a 2010 feel. But a lot hinges on Marsh teeing off. He is the only guy who will put pressure back on the bowlers in our top order. We need him to generate some breathing space for Warner, Smith and Labs to bat time.

Travis Head will sort it out if fit. He makes our top order look far more imposing and gives us two real threats with Marsh.

Good news is that it's a long tournament and we have plenty of time to reach our best form.

Defs not. I'd have him or Green open instead of Marsh until Head is fit but only because they keep picking him and the squad is what it is. But he and even Maxwell have failed far too many times to get the faith they get.

Did Zampa bowl as bad as the figures suggest? Their spinners were nearly unplayable at times. Batting order won't matter if our only spinner is out of form.

Can't get on board with Green opening. We are asking way too much of this bloke at this stage of his career. Stoinis, maybe. He has done well there in T20, and its not like he ever scores much in the middle order anyway.

Rather open with Warner and Smith. Back the little batting talent that we have
