If Australia fails to make the world cup, does anyone feel the A League will just completely fail and go back to the same crowds and so forth they were getting in the NSL days?

i say yes, but believe if we make the world cup it will do the opposite to the game in australia and believe we could another 20% onto crowd figures

I don't think so. People watch the A-League to support their club teams, it has nothing to do with the fortunes of the Australian national team. Frankly, I'd rather watch league football (whether English, European or A-League) than the hopeless Aussie team any day.

Yeah, John O'Neill must be losing sleep over not letting Marconi play in the A-League...

Will they be playing in the NSW Winter Premier League when the sides are announced on Friday. Could be a good tournament in the winter especially with Fox backing it.

I don't think crowds will be affected too much if Aust fails to make the WC. If Aust do make the WC then the A-League crowds will really increase at the start of the 2006/07 season after the WC.
Even if Aust don't make it the crowds for next season will increase a bit because people will be interested after the WC.

What's everyone think of the A-League crowds?? Most have been good, but Newcastle, Central Coast and NZ Knights are a worry.

I dont think the crowds will be impacted on one way or another in terms of what happens in November.

The real test will be over the next 3-5 years when we are inn Asia.....our clubs will be playing in the champions league and we'll also see the national team more reguarly.

It probably will lose a bit of interest cause people will be sick and tired of Aus not making it. But with us joining Asia most people will stick to watching the A League given that we will have a better chance for qualifying for the WC next time round.
