Moltzen will be picked and there's every chance he'll perform well. Like his mate Benji, he thrives against mediocre opposition.

As i have said before the first trial match.
I could not see why Potter even considered him there when all he had to do was watch any video of previous games to see he is not suitable. He would have also seen Utai's long list of floors. The clean slate bs has wasted a month of valuable time better players could have been settling in.

Moltzen didn't improve one bit over the off season.
Just the same old cat who can't play to save his worthless oxygen stealing self.

Penrith looked pretty good last week.

You're right though, Moltzen is a downhill skiier. When we were getting smashed last night he was palming kick returns off to unsuspecting wingers and didn't want a bar of the ball. Yet the moment we get two sets in a row on their line in the 79th minute he goes looking for it. Pathetic and gutless.

I was at the game last night and during warmup he put two practice long kickoffs out on the full also

It may not have changed much but there would have been another player out there with 100% commitment.

If they play hard and get smashed you have to cop that on the chin especially with the error and penalty count they had. But to see players like Moltzen obviously not giving a shit makes me wish he was tied standing up to the coaches roof and driven into the top of the Harbour Tunnel on the way home

I was working so didn't see the game, but on the "highlights" I saw Moltzen let in a try by making a weak grab at a Knights player but with no commitment to stopping him. Unacceptable, and as others have noted, the same crap as last year. This will be one of the first major tests of Potter as a coach.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh on Penrith. They have a good mix of youngsters and new recruits. I really admire the club for dismantling their old squad and starting afresh. But given the presence of young players in the team and their lack of experience playing together, I think their form will fluctuate. Next year, assuming they flex their buying power and add a few more signings, they should be really good.

Moltzen should be asked to give a powerpoint presentation outlining three things he brings to the team. If he fails to comply with the request, drop him for breaching team discipline. If he comes up with even one suggestion, drop him for lying.

Alternatively, the rest of the players could take out an AVO against Motzen, restricting him from coming within a few hundred metres of the team. I don't care if he's selected each week, I just don't want to see him run onto the park.

PRICELESS

It scares me that TIGER05 still wants him at 5/8

You have yo ask why was he even selected?Potter as a former fullback should of known better!
benched, the only thing I could think of was that Potter was just going for a safety first thingy for game one, running on with the team from last year to see for himself, what else could it be?

That doesn't provide a reason for Anasta getting a start though, so can only assume he was selected on reputation and experience in front of a new buy like Pettybourne or Thompson.

Lets face it, what would the team have looked like if Sheens was the coach? Anasta at 5/8 and Benji at 7 perhaps.

when a team gets smashed, the duffers are usually spread throughout the team and last night was no exception. Moltzen was not good but he had a lot of friends in that department. We were monstered all over the park. Lawrence made a lot more mistakes than Moltzen,Utai made more mistakes,Anasta made more mistakes. Because we were so under powered up front, we compressed our defense to protect the ruck against the charging knights forwards only to give them daylight out wide and the outside backs were made to look silly.

I think their is a big case for Teddy to be considered for the team, but I think a month or so on the wing might be the way to go.As bad as Moltzen can go, he along with Koro and Farah are the only players likely to make a break and as we cant out defend teams we must beat teams by out attacking them, till we can get the defense up to scratch

Only reason Molzen was selected was because Teddy has come back from the ACL operation. Tedesco will be 1st grade full back soon
