What would they be worth?

There's a lot of talk about which players we should be targetting, which players we should be throwing money at etc. Thought it would be interesting to see what you guys think your potential buys are worth. Here is what I personally think should be the max offer made to players we've been linked to.

Glenn Morrison: 300k
Timana Tahu: 240k
Ryan Cross: 200k
Joel Monaghan: 200k
Shannon Hegarty: 160k
Amos Roberts: 160k
Chad Robinson: 100k

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, Glenn Morrison 300K, more like 150K MAX! Everyone on that list apart from Robinson would be on more that Morrison IMO. Cross, Monaghan and Hegarty(test player if fit) will go for more than that.

You're kidding yourself. If you think Glenn Morrison is on less than 150k at the moment then you are the biggest idiot around. I'd say he'd easily be the Cowboys highest paid player at the moment. Especially when you consider how hard it is for the club to attract quality players from outside QLD. You have got to be the dumbest poster around if you don't realise that.

You're an even bigger idiot for thinking that wingers are getting paid more than forwards.

That's a pretty bloody good team...although I wouldn't give you two cents for Thurston. Morris to 5/8 and I would swap Wade and Amos.

Penrith are pretty confident of holding onto Amos though.

Maybe one of our young prodiys would slip into the 14 jersey?

I wouldnt pay Morrison $300k...he's not worth as much as Hindy and Caylo. $250k is pushing it, maybe $220k.

Amos Roberts has, or will, resign with Penrith...no doubts..

I would HATE to have Thurston in our team...the bloke is well...yeah i'll leave it your imaginations...i just dont have high opinions of him.

I would love to get Monoghan and Tahu...but i completely new backline?? I think snaring one of these and keeping Burt, or the chance that Lyon might come back would be a better option.

I'd still have Witt in the team as well...

glenn morrison would provide experience to the team but he doesn't exactly come from a winnig culture

let's minimise the turnover for once

ps. amos roberts would be demanding an above average wage at minimum now... and he'd probably like a 3 year contract too

Actually i retract my last post that said Roberts has or will resign with Penrith....he HASN'T and reportedely he WONT! They publicly said that they could only afford EITHER Roberts or Pritchard....and they signed Pritchard...

Parra should throw the $250k they were gona give Tate to get Roberts...

Guys like Kennedy, Hindmarsh, Fitzgibbon and the likes are backrowers on 300K, Morrison is lucky to be half the players they are.

I've said it before and sadly, I'll have to say it again - How dumb are Manly fans!

Glenn Morrison is Nth Qld's Blue Chip player and he is on $300k you ignorant fool. Ask any Nth Qld supporter what he's worth to that club. He's their 'Hindmarsh'. Evidently there is no law that prevents imbeciles from using computers but there should be one in your case Blunty. Your name is rather appropriate though.

Morrison "might" be willing to take a slight pay cut to play in Sydney where his chances of representative football "might" increase but I'd say he'd be looking at no less than $250k minimum for 3 years.

i'd be happy paying Morrison 250k, i think under Smith and around Hindy he could develop into a great player.

Roberts I'd throw some money at too. I like Grothe and Petersen, but so far this year this guy has shown he knows how to find the tryline, and his bombs last weekend just blew me away. I dunno about 250k, or even 200k, but around or just under 200k i think he would be worth the risk.

I'd be throwing money at tahu or monahan. We need some class in the centers because thats where we havent looked as dangerous this year there without Lyon and Vaeliki.

The other thing with Amos is that St George are currently paying a HUGE chunk of his contract, reportedly more than 50%

Now, in order to keep Amos, the Panthers will not only have to take up the portion of his contract currently being payed by Saints but then they would also have to give him a significant upgrade on top of it. With Pritchard & Galea recently re-signed to upgraded contracts I honestly can't see how they will be able to keep Amos unless he's willing to stay for peanuts - i.e less than what he's on at the moment. Will be very interesting to see what happens... :-k
