Don't watch SBS at 7.30 tonight.

But do watch SBS at 7.30 tonight if you like a good laugh.

The Eurovision Song Contest is on again. Yes, the contest that moulded the careers of acts such as ABBA, Buck's Fizz, Brotherhood of Man, Dana International the Israeli transvestite and God forbid, even Celine Dion, is back for another year.

There is nothing funnier than watching someone from Lithuania belting out a 1973 style pop song in an obscure dialect with the crowd going wild and then watching a contestant from Estonia doing what seems to be an exact copy in another even more obscure dialect. Then, watch as they tally the scores for about an hour with the camera capturing every spine-tingling moment as the contestants live or die based on whether Ireland or Malta thinks that they sucked less than everyone else.

I watch it every year. It's like a Train Wreck, you know it's disgusting but you just can't help but look.....

Will William Hung be performing ?

He may not be up to this level as yet, but he is still good enough for the Yanks.

I don't think so Twizzle. He could if he had an obscure and distant great grandparent from Europe though and he certainly is as talented as most of the contestants, even singing Ricky Martin.

but the commentator in the UKs great, Terry Wogan, makes a joke out of the whole contest, hes the only reason ppl watch it in UK, but the europeans are soooooo serious about it. im sure the UK pick crap songs on purpose just so they dont have to host it next year.
ireland should have had Six on it though, theyre eurovision standard

I'm taping it, and shall be watching it during the week.

I saw the qualification show during the week, and the Bosnia one was, well, interesting.

Des Mangan is absolutely nothing over Terry Wogan. What the hell are SBS thinking... I watch it for his witty and insightful comments.

Des Mangan was a legend on the cult flicks, why did they pull that?
I wanted to see the baby cart series again :(
