Don't watch SBS at 7.30 tonight.
But do watch SBS at 7.30 tonight if you like a good laugh.
The Eurovision Song Contest is on again. Yes, the contest that moulded the careers of acts such as ABBA, Buck's Fizz, Brotherhood of Man, Dana International the Israeli transvestite and God forbid, even Celine Dion, is back for another year.
There is nothing funnier than watching someone from Lithuania belting out a 1973 style pop song in an obscure dialect with the crowd going wild and then watching a contestant from Estonia doing what seems to be an exact copy in another even more obscure dialect. Then, watch as they tally the scores for about an hour with the camera capturing every spine-tingling moment as the contestants live or die based on whether Ireland or Malta thinks that they sucked less than everyone else.
I watch it every year. It's like a Train Wreck, you know it's disgusting but you just can't help but look.....
