Just wondering where people here inport their DVD's from. I don't buy many locally. I buy from DVD Pacific in the US and sometimes CD-Wow in Britain. Any recommendations here for other sites (not Amazon) that have good catalogue, prices and shipping rates?
Cheers.

Amazon.ca (NOT Amazon.com)
DVD Soon
DVD Pacific

Are the 3 places I usually buy from.

DVD Soon occasionally has "free" worldwide postage even for 1 DVD. But whenever that promotion starts the prices of DVDs go up by CA$3, and when it ends they go down by CA$3, and the postage is less than that usually, so in effect they get more money having that promotion.

Canada's exchange rate make the Canadian stores great value.

but aren't there different zones for dvd's?

Yes and some DVD players, especially the Asian imported players can be chanegd to multi-region by simply entering a code, without voiding the warranty. The bigger brand players like Sony, Pioneer, etc. need to be chipped to become multi-region, which costs money and voids the warranty. That's why I'll always buy XMS players.

Pioneer players don't need chipping.
Sony are rubbish and of course don't support Multi Region.
If you have a pS2, the DVD Region X (from the Action Replay people) disc works a treat. It asks you to select the region you want and then ejects the disc so that you can play whatever DVD you want.
