Nothing to do with the Sharks but...

Could he be the best ever?

I doubt I've seen a player play that makes it look so easy so early in his career.

He is a combo of Peach , Mundine , Mullins you name 'em...

After watching him on Sat night I thought this bloke will be the best ever .

I agree Carch. I have been watching him all year it was obvious from the start he was gonna be something special.

Make all the comparisons you want. List all the superlatives you can find. This guy has them. I hope injury is kind to him because he is a pleasure to watch (except maybe when he is playing against your team). I think in a year of first grade (and I watched a lot of Melbourne games) I recall one mistake.

Amazing maturity for a young guy starting out.... He will be able to name his position in years to come.

Freak.

I rate him way ahead of Johns.

Pass him the ball and he wins you a game.

Pass Johnsy the ball and he has a sook.

I agree .

It's almost like he is being polite by not scoring everytime he gets the ball.

You should have seen him in the QLD cup before he went on to great things.

34 tries in 26 games, was untouchable.

player of his generation.

Not as good as Simmo according to some.

He's brilliant, no doubt. He has struggled in some games, big games, but for a young kid to be regularly dominating the big time like he is, it's only fair to label him with the possible "best off all time" tags. I guess time will tell.

I'm a bit concerned about a guy 18 years old who grows 7 cm in his 18th year.
Other than that, I agree.

Isn't this one of the reasons for the proposal of the National U/20s comp. An elite comp where elite youngsters can get elite experience whilst physically developing before hitting the NRL.

It's a potential failing in the proposed comp IMO simply due to the nature of NRL sides that want to win and will do most anything to do it.

Medically speaking, and I heard the comments in the game about Inglis' growing pains and associated injuries during the test match coverage, he shouldn't be anywhere near the NRL despite his obvious Triple X factor.

Duty of care?

The guys a freak, so much natural ability its not funny, i watched him absolutely kill queensland cup in a few games last year, i still think he should be fullback instead of wing or centre.

It would be a restraint of trade if you couldn't play him. If I'm the storm and can't use him i'd be dropping bombs on nrl head quarters.

Well for discussion purposes forget it's Inglis when talking R.O.T. because it can apply to many kids.

It's not restraint of trade if they are being paid is it? They'll still be earning.

I don't think it will be compulsory that ALL U/20s have to hang around in the new comp till they reach 20 anyway.

The thing about the Inglis example is that to grow 7 cms in a year clearly means he has open growth plates. If he'd been unlucky enough to get an injury through a growth plate e.g. a tibial plateau fracture, he'd be f**ked. Career over.

You stop them from earning bonus' such as 1st game, 5th game or whatever incentivites the contracts have written into them for playing nrl. Plus if the kid was a star you stop them from playing rep games.

You would lose young players to union cause of it. Rather then dicking around kids with egos would nab the money and get a chance to make their name. Players would get fustrated or complacent and think we'll i can't make it for another say two years. They could lose focus esp if they are far from home.

I have no problem with them changing the flegg/pl system but make it so you can go both ways if your under the age limit.

Since when has rugby league been about protecting the players? win at all costs!!

Yep you can't forget peachey. What a player and ambassador he was. Brings a tear to my eye thinking of shark park in the mid 90's and how electric it was with peachey carving. I know it may seem like a low blow, but I cant help but feel that kimmorley has dinted peachey's star. Peach was rarely the same player when surrounded by kimmorleys overly structured play, and I think because of this, people forget of his pre-ando greatness.....Ive been guilty of this at times too

Just found this little tribute to the great man on you tube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sCxEEe-5H4

The 1st image with ritto, dykesy and matty brings another tear to my eye....... wtf went wrong, f**k we had some good young players
