INJURIES FOR THE OFF SEASON

I think we have our lowest injury toll for a number of years amongst the forwards.

The backs are a bit of a worry with Matt Gidley maybe needing a shoulder reconstruction, Hughes still getting over his neck injury, Johns finding out shortly if he needs a neck operation which would see him miss the start of next season and Tahu and Hall both having injuries as well.

In the forwards we have Newton and Esatheo both just starting to train again soon and Kennedy with a foot strain that just needs a few weeks off the foot, Simmo needs to work on his groin still, Blake Mueller had a hernia repaired about three weeks ago and I think Price is still having problems with his quads or something, but every one of the forwards should be able to complete a full off season training programme starting in early November.
The off season forward training sessions should be awesome with all those young guys pushing all the old guys in the gym and on the sandhills. The average age of the forwards in our squad would be in the early twenties. Guys like Lowrie, Tanner, Mueller, Price, Woolnough, Esatheo, Matt Kennedy, Dan Tolar, Dane Tilse, Brendan Worth, Mathew White, Matt Bartlett, Riley Brown etc etc will be pushing hard to impress enough to grab a chance at firstgrade next year. Guys like Simmo, BK, Abes, Parso and Perry will all have to pull their fingers out if they want to keep the young guys in their places, or out of their places i should say.

I wouldn't worry too much about Gidley's injury. He's making noise both ways but I've got some mail saying it'll be fine for next year either way he decides. His new family commitments is just as much an influence over him staying or going on the tour. Draw into that what you wish.

I'm just as in the dark about everyone else's problems though. The Kennedy foot injury came right out of left-field. Perhaps another tour "injury"?

I think you'll find price broke his jaw. I may be wrong though.

You are right, I can't keep up with that boys injuries.
He should be right to train though. He might have to lay off the tackling practice, but they probably won't do much of that till near the season anyway.

Some may disagree with me here and that's cool. But I reckon Price will have a great year next year. This being his first year and I thought he went well. But he IMO showed alot of promise. He's a hard worker, he's got good size, good speed and above all, he's very tough.

Price certainly looked the goods when he first appeared on the scene, He is a bit of a worry injury wise though, it seems he's injured for a couple of weeks after every game he plays. Just on the broken jaw, I think his injury was a broken jaw but it has healed because he has played a game since it was reported as an injury, like Roopy said he has that many it's hard to keep track of them.

He did have a few injurys this year. He's still very young for a forward. So hopefully when he gets more bulk on him, he'll be less prone to injury. Ben Kennedy and Paul Harragon in my eyes were the toughest knights players of all time and because they played the game so hard, they picked up alot of injuries. Price IMO is in a similar boat.
