Inter Milan - a disgrace

Let's discuss.

Inter Milan as a club has less loyalty than Wayne Carey and Shane Warne put together. They epitomise the word "scum".

Inter are one of the most consistent sides in Europe. They haven't won the Champions League in 41 years and no scudetto since 1989 either. Not bad stats. In fact, Inter have consistently been entertaining Italy since 1908 but despite this, they cant even hold a consistant squad together for more than a season.

I don't regard Inter as an Italian team. Their background was against signing and fielding italian players, hence there name. (Internazionale).

They were famous for having the first ever international contingent with about five Swedish players in the 1940s. We are now in 2006 and Inter consistently field a full foreign XI. Disgraceful.

I wish I could be f**ked to dig up the stats of Inters spending habits and transfer patterns. Their entire club is a joke and it appears they have no idea on earth on how to build a successful squad, despite spending billions of dollars on high profile players each year,

Inter not only needs a broom but a f**king street sweeper through their player, coaching and management ranks. Not that I'm complaining though, as this provides me and many other people around the world with much mirth and amusement.

ouch. some vitriol there!

can't say i'm a fan of inter as well. they seem to be an even more out of control version of real madrid, with only a quarter of the marketing.

i agree that they have never seemed to have had any kind of stability, and their transfer startegy seems to be erratic at best.

every season, they promise alot, but they never seem to deliver. the inter fans i know talk of their win of the coppa italia last season like it was the second soming of jesus.

I'm an inter fan and it just seems like the club doesn't have a soul, as funny as that may sound. You look at Barcelona and when a team plays barcelona they don't just play against ronaldinho and co, they're up against all of catalona, the whole history and romance of the club and basically the tradition. I'm sure thats how the barca players feel when they put on the shirt.
Inter are like Real Madrid, team full of champions but hardly a champion team. They need to be more strategic in their transfer policy, and keep a squad there for a few seasons to build an understanding. I also hate the fact that they seem to prefer to buy 3 good players in 1 position rather than 1 great player, if that makes sense. It seems there's too much depth in the squad.

really? this is a team that just got fined for its supporters being racist to marc zoro AGAIN, after earlier in the season zoro had to threaten to walk off to get the pricks to act vaguely human, and all this on top of the disgrace in the euroderby last year where the match had to be abandoned, and the pre-round of 16 home games played in front of an empty stadium in the hope that the arsewipes learnt some kind of lesson.

great fans!

Inter have been very unlucky over the years and im gonna say this as a HUGE broncos fan, Inter are just like the Broncos, they got the talent, but they got no heart.

Inter can spend all they like and itll be a loooooong time before they capture the scudetto. i remember 93-94 season, they had some huuuuuuge talent, such as dennis bergkamp, wim jonk and co. and pretty much the whole side played AWESOME at USA 94, yet that was only a few weeks after Inter finished 2 spots out of relegation. How about the Ronaldo years? came pretty close. the year where Roma was leading on the last day then lost only to leave it to Inter to win the championship, but they lost too, then 3rd place juve won there match and won the title, will be as close as Inter comes to winning anything major for a long time.

'Are you Arsenal in disguise'
Just noticed this one :D

The only 2 comparisons I see with what tiger wrote are the fact Arsenal haven't won the Champions League and they don't have many English players in their squad. (note Cole and Campbell both injured). But who really cares? They are an English club and the League they play in is one of the best in the world which attracts some of the best players in the world. I mentioned it in another thread, it's the lamest debate in world football, ie clubs who don't have many 'home grown' players. Just on that, Arsenals youth academy is one of the finest in England if not the world and they have produced many a premiership player. Most not up to the standard that the first 11 at Arsenal are and they move on to start elsewhere. Not world beaters, but talented players non the less.

Arsenal have been very successful domestically over the past decade, not sure how that compares to Inter...

They also don't go on spending sprees, they bring a lot of youth through and buy the occassional 'established' player. Not sure that compares to Inter.

Arsenal have loyal players. Everyone knows the club has always had a strict wage system. Players go there and stay because they like the club, fans, lifestyle etc. It's not always about the money. So not sure how that compares to Inter...

Arsenal have held a consistant squad together for a decade. It's changing now with a new bunch. Not sure how that compares to Inter.

They have a good board room and management. Not sure that compares to Inter.

Ok rant over

Mind you I have no idea to the extent of how close tigers assesment of Inter is. I'm just comparing those things he said with Arsenal and wondering why they would be called Inter in disguise. Comes nothing close to it imo.

Arsenal can't be Inter.

a) They've won the league in the past 17 years
b) They play pretty good football for an EPL side
c) They don't buy 7 new world class players every year and turn them into rubbish

Inter are truly unique.

Arsenal are England's best foreign team, hat's off to them and their 2 English players.
I'm yet to hear a good reason/argument as to why there is a problem with the limited number of 'local players' in some teams in the domestic leagues. Teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and Bolton being examples in the Premiership....

I mean for those that are not aware there are these fixtures called 'internationals'. And they occasionaly even have these 'internationals' as tournaments like the World Cup, European Cup, African Nations Cup etc etc etc. In these competitions and 'internationals' only players from that country can play for that team.

Now whilst not playing these 'internationals' all these players are busy back at their clubs all around the world where they make a living out of the game. A lot of the top line players seem to favour the bigger Eurpoean Leagues around. Some clubs having more players from different 'international' sides than others.

I hope it's clearer now :D

J and C Zanetti got bashed up by some fans as they tried to get to their cars. Classy stuff from the Inter fans again.
