Interest in game two

I think that game two in Auckland is really going to struggle to get much interest in New Zealand, It is going to be played at the same time as the biggest domestic rugby game in the country in the same city. So the fair weather fans who are more rugby fans than league fans would be more likely to for to the rugby rather than the league. This will espically be the case if we get a hiding in the first game

I think this was quite poor scheduling by the admins, they should of worked out that it could clash with the NPC final, so it would of been a smart move to of scheduled the game in the afternoon where it would be the only major game being played in New Zealand.

Somehow, I dont think the NPC draws much interest...

It didnt last year, the Kiwis test match was the main news item before the NPC final.

Looking at the crowd figures for the NPC semis so far, they have been very very poor.

I dont want to drag this off topic to much but I think NZRU officials would be pretty alarmed at the NPC. I mean, Kiwi's not being greatly fussed over ANY rugby union game is a pretty big deal.

You have to wonder how NRL trail games between Australian clubs can get bigger crowds in NZ then a Test match.

Obviously someone is doing something very wrong. Do they even promote the game at all?

You'd have to think that if they get thrashed tonight they will struggle to get anywhere near 20,000 in NZ.

Dont forget NZ only get one Test a year, plus 11 or 12 Warriors matches in Auckland.

Hence why they when games go to Hamilton, Wellington, Canterbury and Southland they get around 20,000. I know they want to play this test in hamilton next weekend, but i think it clashed with another sport or something....

I hope for the good of the game NZ gets the ANZAC test next year and play in Wellington or Canterbury, of course it all depends on Williams and Marshall playing of course!!

I think we will get 15,000 next week..

Yeah I mean, its obvious that the market is there for League...its just a matter of getting these game splayed in the right place at the right time.

clash with the npc final if waikato was going to hold it. thats why it didn't come to waikato. (waikato had a strong squad this year but they absolutely choked)
