What do you think?

Rugby League Planet forum runs their own fundraising campaigns for International Rugby League, I know the idea comes up every now and again on here. But what about backing something like this as a start??

Could we realistically find 100 people on here, to each put in 5 (pounds)?? I think if admin were to get behind it we could make it happen, if it were to be put in the NRL section too, for example, where a lot more people visit... Would be great publicity for this site too...

Just putting it out there....

Oh right. Yes I mentioned that in the original post. I wasn't seeing it because I was not logged in when I read your post... I wish we could start a similar initiative...

I bet half the idiots on here think nothing of spending a Grand on getting a tattoo (for example), but 5 bucks towards Rugby League development is "out of their reach"...

You could always join the RLDF. Ten dollars a month and your input when the selection is made is all we require. We are just about to begin the process of choosing the recipient for 2014 and hope to be able to give the winner a $3,000 grant.

Ok great. So how should we go about it then? Should the four of us maybe donate a 10er to the Polish and put it under the name 'League Unlimited Development Fund' or something?

I know 40 isn't much, but it's a start. Who knows, maybe we can then build some momentum from there and start getting more people involved...

Other suggestions are welcome! :)

Exactly how does it work DP? Do they support only one nation per year?

If so, it may help to start another one so that other nations and/or smaller projects can get a bit of funding...

Just go on the site and if you're comfortable with the site's security then donate your amount using your credit card no matter how small. I've already donated a few days ago, I'm comfortable with the security.

Rldf is an excellent donation, though I dont mind langparks idea of two seperate funds, no matter how small benefitting two different nations.

So far it's only been one nation per year benefitting from the RLDF grant. This is mainly because we believe a couple of grand will be more beneficial to one nation than several countries getting a few hundred dollars that won't go very far. There is also an intention to spread the fund across a couple of countries as and when the fund is big enough to do so. The more members we have the sooner this can be achieved.

yep no worries Langpark, however you want to do it is OK by me. I do like the concept of the RLDF, thanks for the explanation.
