Can't find any print or video evidence but on Sterlo the other night, Mal Meninga was quizzed about the Australian Kangaroos coaching position.
His response was along the lines of the position should be made full-time with apart from coaching the Kangaroos the position holder would also help in grassroots operations both in Australia, the Pacific Nations and in new frontiers around the globe.
I for one support the concept - and would like to see it replicated in NZ and England. Ideally France as well.
I think a certain amount of set criteria / achievements would need to be met before jetting someone off to a new or emerging country but surely it could only assist in the growth of the players skills, coaching abilities and the overall profile for the various countries.
Give the gig to Mal .... then jet him off to Spain; Canada; South Africa etc. ;-)
