I dont know if any of the posters here are close, or more to the point, interested, but this stands be a good game. Just thought I'd post it because like here I doubt it's had much advertising.

I'd like to read a report on this game if anyone goes to it.

Does anyone here know much about the level of play of these teams?

I either play alongside or against the NSW players in the team but with the exception of about 2 know nothing of the rest. There's only one Kiwi there I know so I couldnt even guess at how they'll go.

The level of play from the Aussie camp will be reasonably high, although obviously not NFL standard. Most of the coaches have a good football brain so it wont be just crash & bash kind of stuff. I havent seen Mick Harveys name anywhere in the travelling team which is a shame because that guy has class to burn. He's just a natural athlete & can do anything with a ball in his hand, enough so that the AF2 side the Islanders (I think it was :? ) asked him to try out for them.

Will tell more when they get back.

Bugger me it's eerie how things happen sometimes. As I was sending that last post my phone rang & I got told the score. Aussie's won 8 - 0 (TD & safety) in what was apparently a really physical game. Nothing dirty just big hits all day. The Kiwi kids beat ours (14 - 12). This was, from the account I got, a very entertaining match.

Seems things are going ok in the game down under which is good to see.

I wouldn't stake my house on it but I'm 90% sure it was them. If not it was definitly an AF2 side.

Thanks. I didn't know what AF2 was, but I see it's a second tier of Arena Football. There was an Arena team in Toronto the year before, in the AFL.I never went to a game, but they lasted 2 years before folding.

It's pretty big in Europe - in Germany at least it's probably third biggest spectator sport after soccer and handball.

If the USA cared, then you'd actually see more international matches played.

But they don't - it's like a world cup of basketball or baseball, it'd really rock if the USA or someone would actually organise and promote it like the soccer WC.
