UHF Capable?
Your TV or Video recorder must be able to receive the UHF signal as nearly all video recorders can, but older TVs cannot.
· If you own a video recorder, its usually best if your antenna (indoor or outdoor) goes directly into the video, and then out of the video and into your TV set. You will need to tune your video into the frequency of the new channel.
· If you only own an older-style TV set with a single rotary dial for VHF, then youll need to purchase a new TV or video recorder.
Tuned in?
A spare channel on your TV or video recorder must be tuned to UHF-31.
· Firstly, select an unused Channel on your video.
· Next, use the videos automatic or manual search/tuning controls to locate SBS-TV. Once youve SBS, continue searching or tuning upwards and then youll find C-31.
· If you still cannot see C-31, then youll need to check your antenna is correctly assigned. You may have real difficulty tuning-in if your house is in valley or hollow, or if there is a large building blocking your view.
Antenna adjusted?
Your antenna should be placed in a direct line-of-sight with the ABC tower at Gore Hill.
· If you only have an indoor antenna, try rotating the rods to different positions. Try tuning again.
· If the previous step doesnt work, purchase an extra ten (10) meters of cable from an electronics store, connect it between the TV and antenna, then move the antenna to a window or area of the house closest to the city. Try tuning again.
· If you have an outdoor antenna, youll have the best chance of a clear picture if it is pointed to ABC tower at Gore Hill increase the height of your antenna may help. Try tuning in again.
