Ipod touch question

I usually know how to work these things but I can't for the life of me work out how to transfer the songs off my Ipod to my Itunes as the original songs were on a previous laptop that has been destroyed (long story).

I thought there would be a drag and drop function on ITunes but I just can't seem to work it out.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers. :D

Try this, it works for my nano lol.

Import From Your iPod
Step1
Connect your iPod to your computer.

Step2
Click your "iPod" icon. This brings up the "Summary" screen. If the screen doesn't appear, click the "Summary" tab.

Step3
Select the "Manually Manage Music or Enable Disk Use" option.

Step4
Minimize iTunes on your desktop.

Step5
Open up "My Computer."

Step6
Click "Tools" and select "Folder Options." Click the "View" tab.

Step7
Select the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" option under "Advanced Settings." Click "Apply to All Folders," and then click "OK."

Step8
Bring up iTunes again.

Step9
Click on "File," and then "Add to library."

Step10
Browse to "My Computer" and find your iPod. It should appear as if it is an external hard drive.

Step11
Open up the "iPod Control Folder."

Step12
Open up the "Music" folder. Examine the contents of your iPod. The filenames will look jumbled, but if you let your mouse cursor hover over a file, the song information will appear.

Step13
Select a song and click "Open."

bon jovi sounds sh*t on a touch anyway.

No they don't! It's not just Bon Jovi I'm missing out on here but I am a bit bummed with the highest volume setting on the touch. I want to do more permanent damage to the ears...

Get a decent set on in-ear headphones- way better sound quality than the standard earbuds and much more volume due to the noise isolation you get from them.

If you want something reasonably priced you can't go wrong with Sennheiser CX-300s

or if you're prepared to spend a bit more, I've got a set of these babies, Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 Pros, which have 2 separate speakers per phone and sound amazing. Not cheap at around US$190, but well worth it if you spend a fair bit of time listening to your iPod.

I got stuck at this stage. I can't find my iPod's location so I cant add the files.

Also step 9 it says add to library.
But in itunes I have the option of add file to library or add folder to library?

You have to close the "my computer" browser and reopen it for the ipod to appear after doing step 7, I thought it didn't work until I reopened "my computer" and the ipod was there lol. I just selected add file.

dont forget to do the system software update (automatic via iTunes). Gives you the apps store option where you can download heaps of progs (about 4.99 each) and lots are free.

iTouch get most of the iPhone applications - so it makes it a handy tool for business and leisure
