Is Billy Bowden the most overrated umpire ever?

Some of his decisions during this Ashes series have been atrocious. In the previous test Nasser Hussein correctly described one of Bowden's decisions as "the worst umpiring decision in test history".

After the not out I just saw with Hoggard bowling to Hayden I would like to nominate Bowden as the worst umpire in test history.... it might have saved us though

He's Mr Not Out atm. He's decided that he realises this is the most important series in cricket history in many many years, and has simply decided to shut up shop and declare EVERYONE not out. Give me Bucknor and Koertzen anyday, and quite frankly the two best umpires SHOULD umpire the best series. Best regards to Dar as well ... he wasnt out of place but his wife just gave birth so its understandable how he missed these tests

As if the umpiring by Shepherd and Koertzen and Buchnor over the past year was anything to write home about.

There's only one good umpire at the moment, Tauffel. Pity Peter Willey won't travel, because he's another one.

Yes but he's probably made 1 or 2 against Australia, which is 1 or 2 more than they've had against them in 10 years so he should be lynched for being a clown.
