he did nothing wrong in qld's first try - partly because the ball went well & truly over his head & partly because you could see on replay that he gave a half-*rsed jump because he thought it was a knock-on ( and he was in a better position than anyone else to see.

Every time Minichiello had the ball, he was dangerous. As said before, he was the best back on the field on Wednesday night. If you're judging him as a turnstile on having a ball kicked over his head, then I would suggest every player in the NRL is a turnstile.

Minichiello is a better fullback than Slater at the moment. And the one quality he has that Slater doesnt is Heart. He's starting to put his body on the line and doesnt go shy when running the ball back and getting smashed by 3 forwards...unlike Slater.

Gameplan when Roosters play Melbourne? Easy. Kick to Slater early, get Morley and Crocker to chase and flatten him, and then watch him retract into his turtle shell all game.

Slater is a talented footballer. But if you think The Moth is a turnstile, then Slater is a Merry-go-round sized revolving door.
