RL was born to give its players a fairer share of the action from big games.
when RU was around, massive amounts of money was generated by big rep, games but it went to the bosses of the game rather than the players.
they rebelled and set up RL to get a fairer share.
so is what is happening today the same thing.
they certainly arent getting a share of the millions origins and finals series generate. they arent getting the massive salaries their talents deserve because we have poor TV deals.
so is the problem the failure of the games leadership to properly reward its stars?
its 3 years till the next tv deal gets done, do we just sit around and keep losing players till then?
can the nrl go back to its TV partners and say it needs additional funds to keep the stars that deliver those ratings.
if 9 and fox chipped into $20 million each, this could go into a fighting fund to keep them.
or is it better players leave, but we ensure clubs are financially stable and the salary cap says strong to provide an even competition?
