The game in Australia has become boring since the Tigers run in 05, this is due to the fact that there is far to much one out Rugby.

Try watching the Super League on a Friday and you will see a much better attacking spectacle, over coaching is hurting RL.

I know this may come as a shock but the ELV's in Union have made that game much more watchable and thats the truth.

... what 1 change would you introduce to improve the offered product???

As I said earlier, change the rules around the dominant tackle. Make it harder for the attack to just use dummy half plays and hit ups on the back of quick play the balls. The speed of the play the ball needs to not effect the outcome so much.

And in tandem make the defence wait until the ball clears the ruck like they used to.

Is Sterlo right, is the game boring? One word - yes. Dummy half running, or one out running and little to no ball movement. Get to your kick on the fifth and kick to the corners. Wait for an error and if none occur, repeat. The game is repetitive and boring atm.

No, it's not boring. People only think it's boring because people like Sterlo and others in the media keep telling us it's boring. Some teams are boring to watch but others aren't. I love watching the Raiders play, I love seeing Jamie Soward's chip-kicks. The whole comp isn't boring, just some teams.

I don't get the NRL on TV but I watch SOO, Tests, SL, French RL and I must say I enjoy all the different types - because the rules are the same! I like RL's rules.

The worst blight on pro RL nowadays IMO is SL game referees who appear to be much more whistle-happy than at any time in the past.

There is such as thing as building pressure over a period, which some may find boring. Kicking to corners and basic play is an example of building pressure.

I think we expect every game to be of high quality, but that will never happen no matter what sport you watch.

So yes, some games are boring under the current interpretations but others are fantastic. I don't think wholesale rule changes are worth the risk and I am sure, as others have suggested, that coaches will find a way around the the strangling tactics that teams like the Storm use.

In regards to ELVs, the Northern hempisphere nations will never let them through and will resist change as they always have. Union may find its own split forthcoming if the southern hemisphere pushes too hard?

League is a great game but in the last few years it has definately become predictable, years ago you would always get a boring game but most were good, now it's the opposite.

As a few have already said, nearly all the teams have the same game plan, Micheal Hagan wrote somewhere that you have to play safety first in your own half these days or you lose games, well Parra are losing them anyway, so for God's sake try something I say.

Football in Qld is going great guns at the moment with all the Qld teams getting good crowds, and I think it is a direct result of good open football being played by them this year, I'm a Broncos supporter, and the last few years watching them has been a deadset chour, as they were the kings of 1 out football (so much so that all the forward should of taken half the salary of the backs as they never saw the ball).

Wayne Bennett started all this boring football when he lost a lot of his creative players, and unfortunately Craig Bellamy has managed to make a success of the same style of play.

exactly! and coaches can't afford to take risks because they don't even have till the end of the season to find out if they'll be canned.
