Is the grand plan to miss top 4 to avoid a showdown with Storm, Roosters or Rabbitohs ?

Am currently working on a JFK Conspiracy theory for Mary.

    Could be a best seller.

Seems as if our old mate Paul McGregor has decided to drop Luciano Leilua and Jordan Pereira to the bench in the hope of losing our next game against the Bulldogs.

So maybe we lose the last couple of games and come 7th or 8th and avoid a showdown with the three best sides in the comp whilst we wait for Vaughan and Widdop to return from injury.

    Makes sense doesn't it ?

Someone forgot to inform McGenius there is a fair chance that neither Vaughan or Widdop will be sufficiently fit to impact our finals campaign.

Wake up Paul, 7th or 8th Paul, is sudden death time for STGI.

LL & JP had a serious impact on the final result v Tigers. Play LL/JP/Mann and Field if necessary. Play to Win.

All we need is a crack shot with an axe to grind and it could shoot to number one with a bullet pun intended

Pereira dropped for Nightingale as it’s his home farewell.

A chance to give a proper cheer to a Dragon’s legend.

Don’t change the team when we lose, change it when we win, that’ll confuse them.

‘Grand plan’? I’d settle for a Plan B first.

LL will start with Frizz to prop and LAM to bench.

Naming Nighty just so he can have the 5 on but maybe he doesn’t play. Or to give him a (well deserved) farewell.

Don’t need a Plan B when you have:

    Plan A
    Master plan

    And Grand plan

St George Illawarra front-rower Paul Vaughan suffered a foot injury at training on Tuesday afternoon, and has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2018 NRL Telstra Premiership season.

"Paul suffered a season-ending injury to his foot in a freak incident at training," Dragons Head of Athletic Performance Nathan Pickworth said.

"Paul's foot injury occurred on the opposite leg to the one he previously suffered against the New Zealand Warriors in Round 21."

Vaughan said he was gutted to be ruled out for the remainder of the season.

"I'm devastated that my season has come to an end so suddenly today," he said.

"However, I'll continue to support the boys for the rest of the year, and I look forward to coming back bigger and better in 2019."

Vaughan was earlier today named in the reserves to make a potential return from his earlier syndesmosis injury against the Bulldogs this weekend.

His replacement is the 21-man squad is yet to be determined.

Has Vaughan been hanging around Kyle Stanley by any chance?

My question is was he well enough to be training period or has what I think become a Dragons trait of pushing players to hard caused the loss of our best prop?

    Simple answer.....No!

Why would we try to avoid playing in at least 2 finals game, that's a 100% improvement on the last time we made the finals.

The chance of playing the Storm, Roosters or Rabbits (who we have beaten this year) means we may just jag a win and be 1 game from the big dance, a loss gives us a home final. Also add in the extra income for finals.

Drop into the shit fight for 5-8 and run the risk of going out in the first week, well that is just ridiculous.

Saints Forever, You are the new Nostradamus after predicting Vaughan may not be back. Let’s hope you’re wrong with Widdop lol

The only positive thing playing in Melbourne is if you lose don’t you then switch over to the other side of the draw & not play them again unless you meet in th GF??

Finishing in the top 4 is the priority from here I am sure.

Perhaps of the other current top 4 teams, I would prefer to meet Melbourne in week 1... they will down on troops for the first week.. probably 3 or 4 outs, as opposed to the Roosters and Rabbits, who will probably be at full strength.

We are going to need all the advantages we can get to progress .. and a ‘second bite of the cherry’ is a must.

Why the fk would he be pushed to make a return this wk on a 3-4 wk injury when we still have another game to come next wk for him to have a run in before the finals? We have made the finals, there was no rush. Freak accident excuse sounds dodgy as. Heard it all before.
