Italy vs Lebanon

Bringing back the Mediterranean Cup concept, the two will play in just 3 weeks from now, 11th of June! Interesting to see that they'll be playing it in Catania, Sicily this time too, usually they play all their matches way up in northern Italy.

I think both these countries basically have two sets of squads. In this match, I assume all their domestic players will play, but how many of them will survive the cut come WC time?

It's great to see that the Mediterranean Cup is back. Hopefully it can from 2017 onwards become a four team (or more) tournament again.

As for how many of the local players might make the World Cup squads... honestly maybe 2 from each nation might get the opportunity to fly to Australia and spend a fortnight training with the other players. Unfortunately I don't see these nations using anymore as there is minimal incentive for them to do so.

Makes these tournaments all the more important so those local players have an opportunity to represent their nations at some stage.

Great to see it being for domestic players only, will get a sense as to where the strengths of each domestic setup is at for both nations.

I'd like to see Malta entering this in the near future, and Greece when they're back on two feet
